@Frank: I don't think it's a question of who should get THE blame for Wikipedia, but rather who all should share it. There seems to be a weird tendency to want to blame just one person, as if people want the other criminals to get off scot-free. Only by investigating the whole story from the beginning, and getting the names of everyone involved, can we ensure that when the revolution finally starts all the responsible parties can be brought to justice.

The real question is... why should we trust you that your version is correct? Or the history function? Or for that matter Mr.Kovitz? I completely agree that his mentioning of the idea should be mentioned, but why should it be more than that? Does it under every other invention ever state "Oh, but the actual idea came from a friend of his who he met over dinner once"?

Can you honestly say you care who put the words together first? All that matters to history at large is who DID it first. If the person who gave the idea was a real instrumental part in making that idea come to life, then yeah, by all means mention him... but if he was just giving advice over dinner then... Who gives a flying?

I'm not sure what is confusing about Mr. Kovitz's description of what wikipedia should be, compared to what it is now. It is a free, open, public, forum. If you would like to pretend that every source of information is free from bias then go ahead. But it does not seem confusing what this site is meant to do. To share information. To the question of reliability, well its word of mouth.

I somehow suspect it had nothing to do with Seinfeld. That's just one of Ben's methods of operation.

"I told Larry to do the exact opposite of everything he'd been doing"... I wonder if Ben was inspired by a Seinfeld episode in which George did the exact same thing: he thought his life was going nowhere, so he decided to do the opposite of everything he had thought was a good idea, and it worked: everything went much better for him at that point.
