Can someone set me straight here?

I recently ran across information on Jay Rosen, a professor of journalism at NYU specializing in "citizen journalism" and, more interestingly, a member of the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Advisors since last year. A tenured professor potentially could edit Wikipedia full time and get away with it, and Rosen has a few qualities that have been attributed to another individual who goes by "Jay," and it would be very much like Jimbo Wales to recruit someone he was very familiar with through Wikipedia (e.g., Essjay) to be on a Wikimedia board, and it would be very much like Jimbo Wales to kiss up to someone of the stature of Rosen in the way that Wales has kissed up to another individual who goes by "Jay."

But then it starts falling apart. First, Rosen is in New York, not Toronto, although he may have relatives in Toronto (and another individual who goes by "Jay" may have contrived to give the appearance of being from Toronto when in fact he is not). And more importantly, Rosen does not give any appearance of being the absolutely dogmatic, Judaism before anything else nutjob that another individual who goes by "Jay" tends to be.

So I think these are two separate "Jays" that I have been considering. But would someone be willing to give the possibility that they are just one Jay a quick sniff test to see if they concur with my conclusion? The Jimbo Wales end of my consideration fits awfully well, I think, and Jimbo Wales doesn't often do things that don't fit his patterns.
