Hi all,
It looks like Rebecca (T-C-L-K-R-D) has now left Wikipedia after a run of about five years. Per this request, she voluntarily de-sysopped/de-checkusered/de-oversighted ... and de-ombuds'd (IMG:smilys0b23ax56/default/wacko.gif) End of an era. Oh, and Gaillimh (T-C-L-K-R-D) has also left enwiki, and been voluntarily de-sysopped. Admins seem to have left in significant numbers in December (IMG:smilys0b23ax56/default/hmmm.gif) |

Indeed, Rebecca's departure is probably no real loss the project; she did some good article work, but also represented some very bad thinking about how the site should be run, and there was a time when she was very prone to abusing contributors.
I'd be happy to help pick up the slack for any of these departing admins--I'm fully motivated to do the work and I've got years of experience. Only problem is, they won't let me help. Alas. |
