Moved from a not so
An Amazing SPI thread. Let's keep working this one a little.

Garrett's usual modus operandi to block without allowing the one being blocked to defend themselves.
Personally, I see Sarek as one of the countless number of geeks who were beat up and/or endlessly ridiculed in high school who uses Wikipedia as his place of "power" by working out old grudges against said bullies of yore on the hapless editors he chooses to target ... pretending that the imagined power he has and the imagined sense of power he gets in Wiki-land means something (kinda like his imagined Freemason/Babylon 5 world).
Garrett is here and so perhaps he might like engage with us in this discussion about his motivations?
Garrett, were you bullied as a kid and are you using the Wikipedia to work out your frustrations? I promise to treat this matter respectfully.
We were discussing where Garrett, as SarekOfVulcan, locked a blocked user out, right at the moment when they were defending themselves at ANI, by locking their talk page and then reverting it back to a bad looking previous state so no one would see what he had done.
You raised two issues, Pom-Pom.
Firstly, this is Garrett usual MO as a Wikipedia admin. A "successful" technique he has learned and which he has started to repeat habitually. Admins' habits would be useful to look at.
Fucking with someone and then having the power not to let them speak back. Note he picks on someone to kick that is already down.
Secondly, is the 'imaginary' worlds bit.
Are you saying Wikipedia is his "Babylon 5" where he can play being captain of the ship or one of the security staff protecting it from evil aliens? You can apply standard cult dynamics, which we have discussed elsewhere, to that. The Wiki-cult having become his family to protect.
The co-masonic stuff is a little more problematic. He says he only got into to be close to his wife suggesting she is the dominant partner in this. Sure, sitting in the "Most Worthy" big chair of a magic circle complete with wand waving rites, ritual and pentacle star must fluff one's ego.
