QUOTE(Kelly Martin @ Fri 18th February 2011, 8:31pm)
The observation that “a majority of women don't care about an online encyclopedia†is neither particularly insightful nor helpful; after all, a majority of men clearly don't either. It's just that the fraction of men who do is higher than the fraction of women that do, and (apparently for Jimmy and Co.) this is a problem.
One thing you can depend on is that Wikipediots will always find a way to describe situations involving themselves in every way but the obvious truth. So you can see how outside observers might have their sense and their sensibility confounded, once they accept the WP terms of description and the WP premisses of argument.
The obvious truth? Wikipediot Culture is not male culture, it is not even boy culture — it is obnoxious punk culture. It is simply a sad but perhaps hormonally conditioned fact that adolescent males are over-represented in obnoxious punk culture.
