_ Bureaucracy _ CLEANSTART RfA's

Posted by: Michaeldsuarez

I don't have anything against Sven Manguard, but I noticed that he or she recently attempted to do what Fae did (i.e. using WP:CLEANSTART in order to not disclose a previous account):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Sven_Manguard

As with Fae, Sven had an ArbCom member (Xeno) backing him or her:

Also, this revision:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/Sven_Manguard&diff=469744322&oldid=469743173

What is the "recent case" that Sven is referring to? If there's a "recent case" that caused users to change their attitudes concerning CLEANSTART sysops, then perhaps someone should capitalize on that change in attitude and propose that WP:CLEANSTART shouldn't apply to those attempting to become sysops.

No. Other than the names, which I won't share, there's very little I know, and even less I know with enough confidence to share. Additionally, I've created and try my best to follow a philosophy that when I say bad things about users, by name, in public, they either have to be public figures (mainly full time WMF staff), or I would have to feel that they've wronged me to a degree to which I'm willing to deal with the fallout from saying bad things about users, by name, in public. I'm sure that if you ask someone who opposed me on account of the incident, they'd know more. Please ask them instead, or drop it entirely. If you didn't know about it, (and keeping in mind Wikipedia's love for gossip and drama), how big a deal could it really have been?

Since the person Sven is referring to apparently isn't a public figure, I guess that he or her isn't talking about Fae. If anyone here at the WR knows more, can you please speak up?

Perhaps Sven doesn't consider Fae a public figure, or perhaps he doesn't know the details of Fae's real-life identity. Either way, I find it hard to believe that this is about a different case, since the Commons dust-up over Fae occurred immediately before Sven's abortive RfA.

Sven behaves similarly when referencing the "Sophie" incident from last year, saying, in effect, "I have information which is pertinent to the matter being discussed; it's very scandalous; but I won't actually say anything about it, so you'll just have to take my word for it." See his comments on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_adminship/DeltaQuad_2#Neutral and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Sven_Manguard/2011_ArbCom_Voter_Guide#Guide. In other words, he's an attention-seeking asshole.

Looks like you found it on your own. In case you didn't pick up on it, this isn't something that I either followed or care to discuss, so if you have specific questions about ''me'', or how the incident affects ''me'' (other than raising suspicions right before my RfA), I'd suppose I'd be willing to chat about that. Otherwise, [[Wikipedia_talk:Wikipedia_Signpost#Jorgenev|I have no interest in helping you get yourself uncomfortably involved in issues that really don't concern you]]. You're right. He was referring to Fae. He also decided to bring up a previous discussion I had with him:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Wikipedia_Signpost#Jorgenev

Guess what? Jorgenev hasn't returned to editing:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Jorgenev

I take this as a sign that I'm right about Jorgenev: Jorgenev doesn't care about the Signpost; Jorgenev is a narcissist who wanted his name in every issue of the Signpost by doing the "Arbitration Report" session of each issue and who couldn't tolerate anyone tagging his precious articles with deletion templates. Of course, Sven is free to deny reality and to continue to believe that Jorgenev is a good guy.

ALL OF THEM ARE NARCISSISTS. Okay? Just a reminder.

As for "Sven Manguard"......he's a notorious Facebooker/patroller, obviously just on WP for personal social entertainment.

He popped up in September 2010 and promptly went gnoming using a bot. And a few days later,
went on vandalism patrol. Because he's obviously the second (third? fourth?) account of an
experienced patroller. He's playing the game.

Oh, and btw, this is in his userpage history:

QUOTE

This writing shall serve notice for the record: You or Wikipedia or anyone ever writing here or involved with "Open Source" or "Free Software Movements" may make, sell or use my patent # 5,764,518 forever or I will sue you for treble damages on patent infringement. You may not use the infringing “Molecubes” for Wikipedia's commercial interests here and give Hod Lipson credit for it. Charles Michael Collins.

You could always ask http://charles1.jimdo.com/ about "Sven Manguard".
Or maybe http://web.mae.cornell.edu/lipson/

Now people are encouraging Jorgenev to return.

I doubt they know him personally. Probably just angry at having http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Self-replicating_machine&diff=prev&oldid=389799181 reverted.
