http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/stephen-colbert-addresses-cnn-layoffs-unveils-me-reporters-6700_b99971 described the sketch as such:

QUOTE
Colbert noted that CNN said that new technology and social media, including iReport, had made some positions redundant. It was only logical that he get in the game too. Colbert then unveiled his own social news initiative, the “me Report 6700,” which features viewer-submitted reports of his colonoscopy, a goat, and live breaking news from a Manhattan bus stop.

The original story was http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/cnn-cuts-50-staff-members-260737, I believe.

Glad they got a goat in there. Goats need more PR.

Edit to add: yes, you can blame me for moving this to "News worth discussing".

And this is why the media are so perversely fond of Wikipedia. They see a giant encyclo-thing
put together by random twits, and go "why can't we get random twits to report the news for us".
CNN has been trying since 2006 with iReport. I seriously doubt that will be very effective. But they
don't care.

Plus, (remaining) members of the Fourth Estate are quite fond of snitching pseudo-facts from WP.

You see, yecch.gif Wikinews yecch.gif is the future. A shitty future, but the future nonetheless.

Hopefully all the corporate newspapers, newsmagazines, and TV news operations will bankrupt
themselves, and be replaced by something more honest.....if we're incredibly lucky.....
(whatever it is, it probably won't be yecch.gif Wikinews yecch.gif . You can't get much lower than yecch.gif Wikinews yecch.gif .
Even British tabloids give you more information than yecch.gif Wikinews yecch.gif .)
