We already know that Austin Hair and his gang of over-zealous moderator-thugs have taken over the Foundation-l mailing list by banning and moderating any voices that dare challenge the established happy group-think.

However, this is really rather mind-boggling:

Isn't this a rather unusual post by Mike Dupont?

Oh, wait -- it was copied back in a reply post.

But it's not at all the same message between the original and the copy. Has the Foundation really stooped so far as to censor mailing list posts in the archives, even after they've been released to the list?

(Edit: Nope, they just run a piece of software that is so stupid, it deletes any message that begins with a sentence that sets forth with the word "From". So, Dupont's post was removed, although it could be copied back by others.)

That has to be one of the funniest things ever. I don't know what would be worse -- a non-profit mailing list moderator who censors the web archives if they contain content by or about an enemy of the WikiState; or, a mailing list archive function that automatically deletes content if a sentence begins with the word "From"!

Problem first reported 7 years ago. It seems to be a perfect match for wikipedia as neither product are under any deadline to get error fixed.
