fuzzy-headed? Tarantino is being pretty straight forward, but no one has chimed in. False positive maybe? Somey generally frowns upon connecting Reviewers to their WP accounts against their will, though it isn't explicitly addressed in the provisional posting rules. |

I didn't realize we had provisional rules. They're pretty good. How do we ratify them? Selina, the site owner, has to ratify them. So far, she has not, to my knowledge. |

A Writer Named Phil Hall (film) (T-H-L-K-D)
This is an article written by Ecoleetage about a 20 minute "educational" video he had produced that features him sitting on a couch and talking for the entire length. The producer describes him as a "a Pulitzer Prize-nominated journalist", which is patently false. A six minute clip of the video can be found on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqBSi1y4qZw Funny, I can't detect a trace of a Portuguese accent. |

You sure that's him? Since he also claimed to be, uhm. black. Oh, you silly wikipedians that adhere to your "assume good faith" credo. "I entered the world as Felipe Joao Salão de Castenada, but I prefer to walk around today as Eco Lee Tage." "Felipe Joao Salão de Castenada" would be "Philip John Hall of Castenada" anglicized. He misspelled Castenada, in Portuguese it should be Castanheda. |

Selina, the site owner, has to ratify them. So far, she has not, to my knowledge. I would like to convene a congress to declare independence from this distant tyrant. We can have elect representative from different countries, including Mozambique and Argentina. |

We can have elect representative from different countries, including Mozambique and Argentina. I have two queries here. By "elect" do you mean the theplogical sense of "chosen by God"? And if there's only one representative, how do you ensure that he/she is from different countries, including Mozambique and Argentina? |

Well, I assume they would self-identify. Certainly, no one would lie about their country of origin online! |

He misspelled Castenada, in Portuguese it should be Castanheda. So says Wikipedia, anyway: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casta%C3%B1eda. But even in Portuguese it's Castanheda, not the reverse Castenada (e first then a), the latter being a something I cannot find as a variant, in any language. Writing "Castenada" looks like a typical English failure to pay attention to the vowels, which nobody would do in either Spanish or Portuguese would do. So yes, an obvious spoofed name. Not too many people make Wikipedia gives the name dervation as "Chestnut." In Portuguese the last two names are usually family names, mother's family first and father's last (the reverse of Spanish). |

Not too many people make types doing their own name On the other hand, many people make ironic typos. This post has been edited by Anonymous editor: Fri 18th September 2009, 1:34am |

Looks like he's prone to spinning a few porky pies about himself, how apt considering the film company is called "storytellers". Anyone notice that many of the links on the wikipedia article on Phil Hall either don't work or are not independently sourced? |

Looks like he's prone to spinning a few porky pies about himself, how apt considering the film company is called "storytellers". I can't comment on the accuracy of the statements he did make, but I do know he didn't claim to still be 20. His mention of this tender age was in the context of an anecdote (beginning at about 1:26) where he says "My first... uh... professional publishing 'gig' was when I was... twenty years old. The New York Daily News published... uh... a free-lance article I submitted... and it was the start of a very nice career and—obviously I'm not twenty years old anymore but—I've been at it for some time and I enjoy it..." Then he gets off on some goofy tangent but briefly returns to discussing said free-lance article at about 4:55 as you say, then distracts himself again by explaining the term "free-lance" (in case anyone has forgotten what it meant). Something tells me he eventually did run out of videotape as feared at 1:17. |

You are quite right (damn: now I had to listen to the whole boring thing) : he did say "lets circle back..I´m twenty years old.."...in other words, he is kind of "reliving" the time. The whole video-snip is best for those with insomnia, however... ![]() |
