I possibly have another perspective on this, living in the United Kingdom but having been born and brought up not where I now live. I was indeed born in an administrative area that now no longer exists and that place has an ethnic majority differing from my ethnic.
Anyway, the international convention is clear. See page 27 of this document. http://www.iso.org/iso/iso_3166-2_newslett..._2011-12-13.pdf Northern Ireland is a province by agreed international usage. I for one am most comfortable agreeing with the international consensus. |
