Started off with an MfD on a joke-ish "think of the children" page; Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:Think of Wikipe-tan! (T-H-L-K-D), spilled into ANI, attempts to remove its usage from everywhere, etc...

I feel that having Wikipe-tan as a mascot, if she's appropriately portrayed, is much better than using 'Wikipede'.
