Why no Wikipedia article about Beasley Allen?
Why is it not even allowed to be mentioned in the Taco Bell article? I'll bet Jimbo is friends with a couple of lawyers there. |

Why no Wikipedia article about Beasley Allen? Why is it not even allowed to be mentioned in the Taco Bell article? I'll bet Jimbo is friends with a couple of lawyers there. Shouldn't the better question is what is up with Ode to the West Wind. I tipped off NuclearWarfare to half of it back in 2009 while I was slowly building a replacement, but I discovered something weirder about 6 months ago when I started finishing that replacement. In December of 2005, a user decided to copy and paste sections from this website. The material was later published by the author of the article in book form,. The user page of the user says it he is Manuela, but no OTRS report, no real statement he is publishing his original claims on Wiki, in an article, and later in book form. The kicker? His "scholarly" version has citations but this wiki dump removes them all. So, possible copyvio (or problematic re-licensing, a wannabe academic just copy dumping his stuff without acknowledging it, no real releases, and the material is really subpar. And you want to talk about Taco Bell? This post has been edited by Ottava: Sat 29th January 2011, 5:07am |

Why no Wikipedia article about Beasley Allen? Why is it not even allowed to be mentioned in the Taco Bell article? I think it's more likely that one editor's burrito libido has gotten the better of him. I had not heard of Beasley Allen but the lawsuit is certainly worthy of mention. |

And you want to talk about Taco Bell? ![]() No, I'd like to talk about you derailing threads about Beasley Allen with completely unrelated topics like odes. You asked why there wasn't an article. My response was that far more notable topics are really fucked up. Now, if you really wanted a Beasely Allen article, you could have made one at wikipediareview, point to it, and then see if you could convince Silver to copy it. It would have to be compatible though. But we both know that you just wanted to point out a problem with the Wiki. Thus, I am giving you an even bigger problem - junk pages created by drive by wannabe academics to promote their pointless papers. |

You're really having trouble getting to know me, aren't you, Ottava? He's like that... It would seem that Wikipedia determines law firm "notability" primarily by size. Beasley Allen has just over 50 lawyers, which doesn't even come close to putting them in the Top 250 (by number of lawyers) in the USA alone. Even so, a significant number of the firms near the bottom of that list are red-linked (and should probably remain so). Presumably it helps the WP'ers to use primarily quantitative measurements for such things, but speaking only for myself, I personally had heard of Beasley Allen before reading this thread, whereas I'd never heard of most of the Top 250 at all. (Admittedly, this is not something I "follow" the way I follow pro football, indie rock bands, or pumpkin futures.) There is, however, a BLP on Jere Beasley (T-H-L-K-D), which is to be expected since he was Acting Governor of Alabama for three whole days. |
