Everyking blocked for a week, for aiding and abetting a fugitive Options

Everyking just got blocked for restoring the edits of an apparent Amorrow sock to his own talk page. For a week too. Wow, this guy must be like the devil incarnate in wiki form. No edit shall be left standing.

This was the text restored:

Read the policy carefully: Wikipedia:Banning policy#Enforcement by reverting edits:

Lar is not required to do the reverts; he either simply wants to do them because of a hidden agenda or because of some social pressure he is under (look at his userpage for clues). In either case, he has not provided a logical and candid answer. You cannot stop him, but you can salvage what you find of value behind his reverts. My advice: work around him. The Phaedriel stalker, Gorge H/EndoExo, is not Amorrow, just a bunch of paranoid kids seeing shadows. It's actually Mike Garcia aka Johnny the Vandal trolling, and evidently doing quite well.

The current alleged Amorrow account is SallyForth123 and assorted socks.

I'm not sure. It was probably more than one stalker and it probably doesn't matter if it was 1 person or 10 people, they all do the same silly stuff.

It seems that the particular edit that Everyking restored was TO HIS OWN TALK PAGE, which is very different to his restoring edits to mainspace. While he did suggest that he wanted to do that, he actually didn't do it.

Everyking wrote a note earlier (to Lar I believe) which suggested that it was wrong to delete useful content from Wikipedia just because it was written by a banned user.

I think that it is extraordinarily petty to ban Everyking over this.

But at the same time, I think it is naive for Everyking to think that he could be allowed to have an opinion that oppose the inner circle on Wikipedia and not get punished for it.

Kirill_Lokshin seemed like a decent guy before this. I guess not. Kirill_Lokshin should be blocked for that. Someone blanks a user's comment on your user talk page and they ban you because you undid the blanking....

Hmmm I now see they are rewriting policy after the ban saying people can't do that anymore. Ban some for something not against the rules and then later change it so it is against the rules.

Oh and now I see they are accusing Everyking of WP:POINT. They seem to toss WP:POINT up whenever they don't have any real reason.

Hmmm an IP 71.174.226.117 prodded User:MarkGallagher/everyking for deletion five days ago saying it's no longer relevant. User:MarkGallagher/everyking was a reason for one of Everyking's unblocks. Everyking has a long block log.

MONGO is close with MusicalLinguist who was a fixation of Amorrow's. As I recall he wrote an article about her father amongst other things. This was doing Andrew's reign of terror in the spring of '06. The impersonators really only started much more recently.

I read a message on wikipedia where the user got reverted and was banned. It said that ElenorD is a sock puppet of Musical Linguist. ElenorD if anyone is not paying attention is the one who went around solely reverting criticism to the talkpages of SlimVirgin and Jayjg during their break(s) starting in mid 2007.

I don't normally talk about this stuff on here, but no - Johnny the Vandal is not Amorrow nor Encyclopedist. They're all totally separate individuals. JtV posts out of Italy, as it happens, and has a fixation with the same 3 or 4 people, including myself. At one point, he was claiming to be anyone who was convenient. Vandalising the Test Wiki was not one of his brighter ideas, where just about everyone has checkuser. Tsk.

Well, it's rather well-know that ML is [Name Redacted]. That's been mentioned enough times before on here. But ElinorD? Nope, sorry, and I sure don't buy Somey's 'proofex' moment either. Put this way; I'm from Dublin myself, as is ML. I've had the pleasure of speaking with ElinorD in person recently and she sure ain't a Dub. More like Sarf Lahndan.

How to handle the edits of banned users to user talk pages is supposed to be left to the discretion of the users those talk pages belong to--policy specifically says so. Yeah, I naively thought they would respect that. As much crap as I've seen and been through on WP, there's always something new.

And basically, I got unblocked not because I'm supported by policy, but because I promised not to do it again. So I have learned something over time. Submission is primary, reasoning is secondary.

There's a certain asymmetry in the treatment of banned users. Sheynhertz-Unbayg (who all agree was well-intentioned, just incompetent) had all his post-block edits reverted. Antidote does not, and indeed Seraphimblade acted as his meatpuppet and although PL pointed this out on his RfA, he sailed through it.

Actually I think its less than 5,000. Not really a lot. But hey, as a pet project I guess its okay.

Anyway what were we talking about? Oh yes, Amorrow.

I said this when we had Amorrow as a user on Wikipedia Review: Why the fudge doesn't Wikipedia have real documentation as to what he has done? They could say it without providing evidence, or having hidden evidence, or they could provide bits of evidence. A large part of the problem is that they don't even say it. Amorrow is a stalker. That's it. We banned him from here because of it.

And half the problem is that when we had Amorrow on WR we had Essjay come on here and tell us how awful it was for us to let him come in, but he refused to tell anyone why, refused to give us any hint as to what he had done. So that when we eventually found out, and banned him over it, they had then insisted that we were harbouring him, which was a load of bullshit because we didn't even know for sure what he'd done. We thought that he was banned for making nazi jokes, which was fair enough to be banned over, but not really a major issue as far as WR is concerned.

This again gets to the crux of the problem here with these sock puppets. Yes, he most likely is using socks, and I would suspect that at least some of these socks will be female users. It makes sense that he'd try that avenue. He would also use what sounds like real names, and get real photos of women, because then it makes him seem less threatening.

What they need to do, if they are to do anything proper about Amorrow, is to document what he's actually done, and leave it somewhere. They can decide how detailed that documentation has to be, but in essence they need to at least say it.

Even if it was as short as: Amorrow stalked Katefan0, Woggly, Musical Linguist and Phaedriel and was banned because of it. He is a danger to Wikipedia and to all editors, especially female ones.

Even something like that would be enough to get the point across. They could reword it to say that they felt harassed, or whatever. But they need to make it clear.

And, as Everyking said, even if he is this major threat to society, that still doesn't mean that they need to automatically delete all of his articles. Is there any danger of his making an article that secretly contained some kind of a trojan horse that might secretly attack someone later? I don't think so. There's paranoia, and then there's pure idiocy.
