_ Admin retirements _ Did Seicer quit, or not?

Posted by: EricBarbour

As mentioned on the http://wikipediareview.com/index.php?showtopic=23302, he wrote a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Seicer/Resignation on 12 March.

And this morning, after watching the Aitias RFAR debacle, he finallyhttp://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3ASeicer&diff=277590830&oldid=277487053.
(As of 1pm California time, anyway.)

Sorry it had to come down to trouts, Seicer. Going to make it permanent?

I haven't made that public yet, so not yet (soon, though). I'm just wanting to return as an active editor and get out of the hell that is adminship and Wikipedia drama and politics. I have a few more bold statements I'd like to make before I quit.

That sounds like a plan.

Oh, and delete the main page while you're there, would you?

Indeed evilgrin.gif BTW, welcome to Wikipedia Review.

Are you now ready to concede that Wikipedia is a social experiment, Seicer?

Maybe my essay, that you http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Guido_den_Broeder&action=history over to get it removed from my user page, which led to my ban shortly thereafter, wasn't so wrong after all?

Posted by: seicer

I concede that my reverting was in poor taste, but the typical instance when a user is banned is for a page to be blanked. In the era, i wiped the page, but it is available for viewing. I'd like to make this visible, but I'm fairly certain that a lot of users still have this page watchlisted.

Maybe I entered the garden from the other direction, but it looks like GIANTBOOBS to me.

The order was that first you editwarred, and then I got banned.

The blanking after that, of the user page of a banned user, is of lesser concern, but as such a peculiar habit on en:WP, which is not consistently applied btw. The contributions of a banned user to the project remain, so others may still want to know the banned user's affiliations, interests, and views on WP.

Uglier still is that shortly thereafter, Fram deleted all my other userspace pages. That's a personal statement by an opponent in a content dispute, very typical for him.

The essay can still be read at Meta. Kinda weird that everybody there is ok with it, while on en:WP the Arbcom won't even post or respond to my appeal.

Do article writing, it's good for you and avoid AN/I drama, remove it from your watchlist and so forth. If anything do NP patrol and AFDs

He's been patrolling my edits more and more as of late; lately, it was my use of a word. I was on the road, and presumed this was a hacking attempt (it's happened several times before from the same IP range), and the contribs. look familiar to a user I indef'ed long ago. I'm at home now and unblocked the IP address.
