Wikipedia high priest Jimbo Wales, who has gone through two beards, I mean wives, seems to be covering up for closet Republican politicians.

Former Congressman Jim McCrery has been, despite his many anti-gay votes, outed as a homosexual. Wales blanked this information out in 2006, the last year that McCrery ran for re-election. McCrery left Congress this year. The film Outrage has interviews with some of Jim McCrery's former male lovers, all of them brothers in his college's fraternity. There was also a magazine article on this.

For some reason Wales wants discussion of this done away with. Despite McCrery being in the public eye, and hypocritically persecuting homosexuals while engaging in homosexual behavior himself. Despite magazine articles and documentaries. For some reason, Wales is covering up for McCrery.

With edits like this, I can see why but what is more notable is Wales's weasely use of language, "We repeat the allegations of this obscure documentary".

SCOTT FOUNDAS, Village voice/LA Weekly goes for "DULY PROVOCATIVE, WELL-SOURCED", LA Times, "A POWERFUL, DISTURBING AND SIGNIFICANT FILM", SF Chronicle, "Powerful. An essential film", and Rolling Stone, "Incendiary" and a "One of the best-made films I've seen this year, and without question one of the toughest and bravest." It was made by an award winning filmmaker Kirby Dick (HBO's Oscar nominated “Twist of Faith”).

i know nothing about the actual in and outs of the situation.

... Nor why Wales would take a personal interest.

Try correlating Wales and the Republican with recent social or private speaking events, funding trust etc?

It's got nothing to do with the guy being Republican. It's just Jimbo's bread-and-butter editing around BLP issues.

McCrery was born in 1949. Check to see if he has a cute younger sister/cousin/niece who is involved in Web 2.0 and the free culture movement. For example, is either Andrea Weckerle or Caterina Fake related to McCrery?

Like any other WP policy, BLP is applied selectively. The selection process may be of some interest here.
