That an arbitrator is accepting this case, with the prior attempts at resolution being an RfC from five months ago, says a lot. I think this case might actually accomplish something.

The arbitrators have busy times ahead. Durova MONGO and Ryulong are all on the request page.
I have probably more faith in arbcom than most people on this forum, but I still doubt they will have the balls to step back and say "We need to stop the bullshit here and now", especially not with that clueless Jimbo from cheering on these problem people.
To be honest though, I don't see Ryulong as that big of a problem, even though I opposed his RFA.

And I agree, there are some big cases at the fore. Although MONGO will probably be rejected and this RFAR against Ryulong is of uncertain fate, a lot of attention and spotlight is on the Arbcom atm.

That's true, and I don't know how a history of bad blocks will compare to a longer history of rampant incivility and misbehavior (a la MONGO).

Well we usually work quick here, although next time I'm sure we will all leave a grace period if you want to start a thread in this forum.
Personally I think you have a good chance of things going unnoticed what with the Durova and MONGO arbcom cases and the elections in December, but a lot of people check the Arbcom board.

He can change his mind, I believe? Accept on evidence provided, and then decline on subsequent provision of evidence if need be.

In the meantime, the siege mentality is hilarious to watch from the outside, as the rats turn on each other, left and right. The quasi-resignation and sabbatical of SlimVirgin and Jayjg now seem downright prescient.

Ryulong, if this ArbCom every succeeds to bring this to the front, do the following to win:
1) Gather ye friends from yon IRC. Find also prominent Wikipedians of which you have "dirt" on them. Make it clear that you need their support on the RFAR... or else.
2) Find a loyal administrator, but do not let him get involved on your RFAR! You will need him to watchlist the ArbCom case and block any "trolls" or IPs or young accounts trying to bring evidence against you. Allow, of course, them to bring evidence against your accuser, VO, whether the evidence be true or not.
3) Make it clear that you only blocked VO for a day. Blocking someone for an hour, 75 minutes, or a week is really no big deal. People get blocked and banned all the time and no one should be angry at the blocking admin for blocking especially if it was a mistake.
4) Spin this case against your accuser. Point out his flaws. Ignore your own. Note his Conflict of Interest by your blocking him months ago. He's obviously out for vengeance and has no legitimate grievance against you.
5) Never say you're sorry. Make him say he's sorry. Talk calmly like a telemarketer or IT person. Eventually VO will say something uncivil. No need to block, but if the Arbs don't seem to notice, point it out in evidence or on the workshop. Never attack your enemy directly. Make him attack you and he will be judged as vicious by others.
6) When this is over, your accuser will be angry and upset. Go to his talk page and kindly say something like "I hope we can put this drama behind us, move forward, and do what we came here to do... write an encyclopedia!" This can for now end if VO does nothing or archives a week or more later. But if he archives within a week, he is being uncivil! How dare he remove a "good faith" attempt at reconciliation! Unarchive the comment and make clear that is uncivil, that he does not own his talk page, and that he should be ashamed of himself as he is an administrator and should know better! Get one of your admin friends to block him if he persists. Remember, he is a vicious anti-Ryulong monster and he must be stopped! Encourage via IRC those weirdoes that put Wikilove templates on everyone's talk page to go put one on VO's talk page and let those weirdoes tell him that being angry with you is uncivil and we should all be happy all the time and never be sad on WP. If he reacts negatively to this, it is like kicking a puppy and uninvolved admins will likely block him. So subjected to abuse, he will eventually lose everything.
7) Thus, your accuser can either drop his grievances against you or commit WP seppuku.
And that is how the Cabalists destroy their enemies via ArbCom. My super secret evidence has discovered this!

I have a feeling JzG will take my "advice" in his upcoming RFC. But JzG does not even do Number 6 by going to user talk pages and asking for peace and love. He just says "FU" and "banned means banned!" and away you go. I mean, you should at least pretend to be nice to your enemies. Mantanmoreland isn't really following the advice either. I believe Ryulong did go to VO's talkpage and followed my "advice" (or perhaps I saw what he did and then I wrote down my "advice"). And he got off without even slap on the wrist. Pity.
