I think it would be nice if someone else would run to sort those particular idiots out.

Those anarcho-capitalists are awfully cute sometimes, aren't they?

Besides, he's living in the UK now. First you'd have to get him back to the USA, find a state that has a vulnerable Democratic senator up for election next year, have him establish residency there (time varies from state to state), and then brainwash that state's population... these are not easy tasks. And they can't (or won't) run him in Alabama, because both of Alabama's senators are already Republicans.

So I'm not so worried.

Nah, forget it. Jimbo has made so many enemies by now, he couldn't run for dogcatcher in Florida.

All any opponent in an election has to do to counter "wiki-luv" is to drag Essjay, Rachel Marsden,
and Carolyn Doran out and wave them around in front of voters, who are usually over 40 and
rarely give a crap about Internetty-things.

Making him look like a fool would not be difficult. The mystery is, why so many net-nerds have such
blind love for him and/or his "greatest achievement". I guess the average Schumin never votes in
actual elections. Too busy playing D&D and eating Cheetos. yecch.gif

There's no way he'd want to be an elected official, because by being so he'd be accountable. That just wouldn't sit right with him.

True. The natural thing would be for somebody to appoint Jimbo to some judge-for-life office.

Wait-- I have it! Since it's now been 10 years of Wikipedia, what Jimbo has now at WMF, is most like K-12 public school teacher TENURE. Except it's not as contractual as public school teachers get.

happy.gif Finally, I've put it in a way even Jon can understand. Maybe.

I think it would be great if Jimbo became a senator. Then we could do a study of his WP bio, pointing how much vandalism it suffered and how long some of the vandalism went uncorrected. Just think how senators would react to a study of an article about one of their own number! They'd repeal WP's immunity and make the WMF liable for WP content in no time!

I'm entirely sure that was a rhetorical "should I?" since Jimbo lives half-time in England now...

Interesting to note: of all the US-based visits to that article today, 26% have originated in the District of Columbia.

By the way, you can't mention Jimbo's possible Senate race in the BLP about Jimmy, because that would http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Jimmy_Wales&diff=420687672&oldid=420686941.

If by "rhetorical," you mean "bullshit posted on twitter so that Jimbo can get ego-stroking replies from fans lined up to suck his dick," then yes.

Oh well, at least he's finally come out of the closet as a full blown Ripofflican, the party that any sleazebag can run in.

Do I detect the scent of Kochaine on those C-notes ???
