This is way old and way off topic but I've been noticing the header that "The German wikipedia is broken" ever since I showed up here and have always have had an itch to say...

I note that Fossa was recently
threatened with a
series of blocks of increasing duration by
User:Dab.
for having a coloured signature. (IMG:

Note: Readers should not confuse this user DaB with Dbachmann who, despite being a German-speaker (Swiss I believe) and signing as "dab", is a different person.
Good point. I doubt dab=Dbachmann would have a
calligraphically rendered inspirational quote from Essjay on his user page. (IMG:

It's gratifying to know that there is at least one place on earth, somewhere in Hesse, where Essjay is still being being held in the highest regard, considered a role model even ... although it must be said that the calligraphic font and font size used in spelling his name on that user page is strictly speaking in breach of the German Signatur-Verordnung.
: IN GERMANY IF U SPEAK POLISH THEY CUT YOUR TONGUE OUT, TALK ABOUT DEMOCRACY...

The German wikipedia is overly fascist. I'm not being facetious either.
Well put!In my experience German people are very polite and tolerant. The opposite is true for the people at deWiki, whom I assume are Germans for the most part.
Really a shame, since people, who have never met Germans, might think that they are all like the morally and socially challenged ones at deWiki.
They're either at your throat or at your feet. You've just met the ones at your feet. Put them in cyberspace and you get the other side of the coin. Hope it stays there (finally).

What's your criteria for "working well"?
Two good things it has are flagged revisions and stricter sourcing standards. Scholarly sources are preferred by policy; using media sources is only
allowed if there are insufficient scholarly sources.
The German version of WP:V:
This should be stuck up on SlimVirgin's wall.
