Received from banned user Jossi. Unedited except for email address removed
(he's said in the past he would like his email not circulated, he can surely
be contacted via emailuser and asked if that still applies).

Paul.

Hello Paul,

Hope you are well and enjoying the New Year.

As you know I am blocked indef since June last year.?

Lately?I have been thinking about the possibility of returning to be active
in WP, and would appreciate your advise.?

Basically, I would want to return to contribute to the project in areas
unrelated to previous controversies and be a useful member of the community.
My interests are in Ontology, Greek history, online technologies, art, and
other subjects that I care about.

I would be happy to accept a project-wide restriction on any topics in
article and talk namespaces (Prem Rawat articles, NRMs, etc.), either
arb-enforcer or self-applied, whatever would be best.

Could you provide some advise on how to proceed in exploring this
possibility? ?Do you think that would be possible? Is it appropriate to ask
for this at this time? Will the ArbCom and/or the community be open to
this??What I do not want is a public flogging or any other such dramas.

I have contacted an Arb (Coren) last month on this, but I have received no
response.

Any suggestions or advise will be greatly appreciated.

Best,

-- Jossi

Hi Paul,

May I ask whether you gave Jossi any advice, or let Jossi know that
you have forwarded this to us, or whether you just forwarded this
e-mail to us without replying to Jossi yourself? The impression I get
is that you are passing this on to us to deal with, but it might be
better if Jossi contacted us directly, rather than us contacting Jossi
following you passing this e-mail to us, as I think Jossi is asking
you for advice, rather than us. Or are you asking us for advice on
what to say to Jossi?

No advice or discussion took place whatsoever, nor in this case was any
needed. Jossi isn't meaning literally "advise me and nothing else". He's
meaning he tried to broach it with Arbcom (via one arb), got no reply, isn't
sure what to do next or how to read the non-reply. A degree of judgment on
what's best is implied.

My entire reply was: "Checked with another arb and sent to Arbcom. Your
email address removed "in case" so I suggest you check "Emailuser" will
work."

(The "other arb" was Risker but that's mainly irrelevant)

His reply was a thank you.

Paul.

That makes sense. Thanks for explaining.

After my side-chat with FT2, it seems this is just a standard appeal
to be sent to BASC, with a note that no e-mail address is given, and
contact has to be made through "Emailuser". There was an unwrittten
rule last year that some BASC cases got punted up to the "whole"
arbitration committee, sometimes with a recommendation, sometimes with
none. This might be one such, or (given the amount of lapsed time)
might not be. Some elements of the community would also be very
interested in this as well.
