And wouldn't you know it, the media has picked up on this -- and Ayn Rand is involved!

Check out the Kent Police on Facebook! Four dead in Ohio. Oops, wrong Kent. But seriously, I have to ask who would "friend" a police department on facebook, as if said department isn't collecting enough information about users who aren't at the forefront of their attention. ![]() |

I must be the only one they're paying. It's not much, but I've made more in 3 months off of 18 articles on Examiner than I made in 30 months off of 50 articles on Wikipedia Review. Is that what you meant by "all the money"? |

You mean you made $4 instead of only $3? It's a bit more than that. But, really, you must realize I'm doing this to get the message out, not to make a living. Getting 5,500+ page views so far is pretty impressive, if you ask me. So, they're offering me money and a platform that draws traffic, thanks to a 7/10 Google page rank and Top 600 Alexa ranking. And I publish when I want to publish -- no pressure on or from anyone else. |

Greg, out of curiosity, does anyone look at what you write before it goes live?

And I publish when I want to publish -- no pressure on or from anyone else. This information about revenue per thousand page views on CNET would suggest (if the total RPM of CNET is about comparable with Examiner.com's) that Examiner is paying me about 75% of the ad revenue, while keeping 25%. Enric Naval would have you believe that I am getting a bum steer in this deal, but I would disagree. You really look silly referring to your own little blogs as 'the media'. I find it cute and endearing. Thanks, Mike. I also find it cute and endearing, which is why I do it. It's one of my trademarks, you might say. Greg, out of curiosity, does anyone look at what you write before it goes live? No, they do not. However, if I submit it as "News", then before Examiner submits it to Google News for review, a human being is making a determination whether it meets the criteria for Google News feed or not. Editors who work for Examiner are of course empowered to remove articles, after publication. This post has been edited by thekohser: Fri 29th October 2010, 7:17pm |

Didn't know you got a little cut, ok then your time to waste... Seems odd for the owner of a Wikipedia criticism site to describe another formalized effort at Wikipedia criticism as "time to waste". Maybe Selina's not really in this for the Wikipedia criticism. |

I was criticising the idea of the site as a whole, not your part. It seems like a wiki but for articles

I was criticising the idea of the site as a whole, not your part. It seems like a wiki but for articles ![]() Yeah, because there aren't any articles found on wikis. Selina, would you ever consider selling Wikipedia Review.com to someone else? QUOTE(valuethewebsite.com) Estimated Worth: $20,146 USD Income Per Day: $21 USD Daily Pageviews: 1,092 Alexa Rank: # 154,030 Compete Rank: # 251,245 IP Address: 74.54.128.178 Domain Name: Wikipediareview.com The valuation is hooey, of course. If it were for sale I would be willing to tender an offer of a thousand US for the site (change of registration and password given to me), but I'd need someone reliable to perform the escrow function. Greg would perform that well, if he's willing (hundred-dollar fee, Mr. Kohs?). I'd throw in an additional hundred for the convenience of Selina setting up my founder/admin account, with the understanding that Selina's account would immediately be demoted to ordinary user by me. |

Its just like buying Baltic and Mediterranean Avenues. The low-rent nature of the internet once amazed me. Now it just seems seedy. Once you acquire the site make sure you hire out a bunch of piece work for $0.76 or something. Maybe you can reemploy the kids who rummage through the rubbish reaps in Mexico City and Lima for money to buy sniffing glue. |
