The other site mentioned User:Neelix and an article glorifying his edits to Wikipedia. I decided to look into the FA that he boasted and just looking at the first online source I realized that the whole thing is original research, plagiarism, or just something that would normally result in a student being expelled.

I will be relying on both the page Carabane when nominated and its current edition to perform a spot check of sourcing.

1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carabane#Toponymy

No source for the end of the first paragraph in this section.

2. "According to other sources,[2] the name comes from karam akam,"

Doesn't say that in the source. It merely says that the ancient name was Karam Akam. This is clear original research and fabrication.

3. Under the same source. is this: "Today, the village has a health facility which is connected to that of Oussouye and Ziguinchor. It provides vaccinations, family planning consultations, and prenatal information. A maternity hospital was founded in 1991 which is furnished with a fresco by Malang Badji, one of the most famous artists in the region.[2]"

In this and the current version, "1991" does not appear in the source. There is also nothing on hospitals, vaccinations, family planning, or the rest. This is completely fabricated. The only thing sourced is "Malang Badji" as existing and that he is "one of the most famous artists of the region." Note, that claim is plagiarism as it is a direct, literal translation from the source which is not allowed without providing the French and quoting it as a direct translation.

4. Under the same source. is this:"The island experienced a decline in the 20th century, when Ziguinchor emerged as the regional capital. The island more recently had to face the negative economic consequences of the Casamance Conflict and the Joola tragedy. Now, the sale of local products in the capital is only possible if they are transported first by boat and then by bush taxi for a total of nine to twelve hours.[2] "

There is absolutely no mention of Ziguinchor in the source, let alone it being the regional capital or a decline. The only mention of Casamance is in tourism ending, but this is not necessarily "negative economic consequences" or a poor way of describing it. There is no mention of a Joola tragedy. The last is tiny bit of plagiarism combined with original research:

Wikipedia: "Now, the sale of local products in the capital is only possible if they are transported first by boat and then by bush taxi for a total of nine to twelve hours."

French: "On descend enfin à Eilinkin: une pirogue nous emmène à l’île en une dizaine de minutes. Durée totale du trajet: entre 9 et 12 heures."

Google Translation: " We finally descend Eilinkin: a canoe takes us to the island in ten minutes. Total journey time between 9 and 12 hours."

It says nothing about selling goods but how long the journey took for the reporter to arrive.

5. Under the same source. is this: "but this type of discovery tourism is not as popular as traditional beach-related tourism. Thus, visitors from France, Spain, and Italy often combine tours of the cases á impluvium in Enampore or Mlomp with a few days of relaxation in Carabane. The area is also very conducive to the interests of fishing enthusiasts. Along the beach, small stalls offer traditional crafts and clothes at prices lower than those in Cap Skirring or Saly. Badji Malang, a local painter, potter, sculptor, and poet, has created a camp in the area.[2]"

The only mention of France or Spain are adjectives modifying types of goods. No mention of Italy. Enampore and Mlomp are not mentioned.

What is mentioned? Not Saly or Cap Skirring. Only Malang Badji (not Badji Malang) and there is no mention he created a camp.

I will provide more if needed, but he needs to go through an immediate FAR review, people need to look through all of his actual content contributions (he mostly makes redirects) and purge Wikipedia of his years of really, really bad abuse. I was the only person to look for these things at FAC, and I found many, many original researchers and plagiarists. It is disturbing that people allow such content thieves to get by.

Side note: Faculty page of Kings does not list a David Purdy.

Another article check:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kellie_Loder

1. Wiki: "Kellie Loder was born in Badger, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada in 1988."

Source: Does not mention her being born in 1988. No mention of a Badger as her birth place but only a "from" location.

2. Wiki: "raised $675 to support David Willis and his family in Willis's battle with lymphoma at Daffodil House in St. John's"

Source: "Approximately $675 was raised at the event for Mr. Willis, his family and for the Daffodil House in St. John's."

Close paraphrasing and misstates the source to try and hide from being outright plagiarism.

3. Wiki "Loder stated that she was surprised by the large turnout to this event."

Source: "It was a good turnout for a good cause" or "It was a bigger turnout than I expected,"

Obviously an error in what was said. The "surprise" is something implied by Neelix and is editorializing.

4. Wiki: "Loder and Anyday performed together again later that month on the 28th at Dorset Collegiate on Pilley's Island."

Source: "She will appear with Anyday again on November 28. They will be playing at Dorset Collegiate on Pilley's Island."

The only thing keeping this from being plagiarism is the fact that Neelix can claim a source was able to have magical powers and knows what happens in the future.

Another source:

5. "At age 10, Loder was placed on her church's drumming schedule."

Source: "At 10, Ms. Loder was placed on the drumming schedule for her church. "

Plagiarism.

6. " She received her first guitar that year, by which point her brother had taught her three guitar chords."

Source: "brother Bradley taught her the first three guitar chords, and by 14 she received her first guitar"

Plagiarism.

7. "he started songwriting a year later," "Loder did not begin playing piano until after she started songwriting."

Source: "At 15 she discovered her ability to write songs." "She then went on to learn how to play piano."

Plagiarism disguised by shuffling the information apart and shoving some other stuff in between.

8. Wiki: "While still a nursing student, Loder encountered a record producer."

Source: "While attending nursing school she met with a producer"

The paraphrasing is too close and changes the actual state of what happened.

9. Wiki: " In conjunction with this award, she was given an East Coast Music Association membership, a MusicNL membership, time at a recording studio, time with music industry and production professionals, and a featured performance slot at the following year's YC Newfoundland."

Source: "Ms. Loder was awarded an artist development package from YC Newfoundland and Labrador, which included time with production and industry professionals, studio time, MusicNL and ECMA membership and a featured slot at YC 2010."

Plagiarism with just an order swap.

10. wiki: "Loder moved to St. John's in January 2010 and released Imperfections & Directions later that year."

Source: "In January 2010, she moved to St. John's and worked on the sophomore album "Imperfections & Directions,""

Barely paraphrased.
