I doubt admin UpstateNYer has even been mentioned here, but according to this article which he linked to on Jimbo's talk page, he's "a Wiki legend", so I thought I would at least give him his own thread. Perhaps there should be an editor's annex for editors who are not at all interesting, but somehow get press in their local newspaper?

"Matt Wade, Wikipedia administrator, and author of massive new article on history of Albany is pictured in Albany Friday November 19, 2010. (Will Waldron / Times Union) "

If I were the features editor of that publication, I would smack the caption writer for using the word 'massive' in any part of a description under that picture.

It is the ALBANY Times(union) not the NYT. There's a difference.

Plus B maybe the caption writer is secretly a subversive out to make the editor look bad?

What are we talking about? UpstateNYer seems a run of the mill sort (at least he was in my interactions with him). He gave in to temptation to let his horn be tooted unnecessarily, yes, but who among us could resist the siren of fame?

Well I did. Some FOAF said "hey can I bring my camera crew over and film your basement full of LEGO... we'll be respectful, honest" to which I said "certainly not!!!" But I had to think about how it was likely to come out. For about 2 seconds.
