Look, I can't agree with Jackwelsh's politics, but he did have a very good point, that his own personal beliefs did not allow him to express in a logical, coherent manner. There is a group of editors (and admins) on Wikipedia who act in tandem to push a certain PoV and abusively instate "article ownership" - and this group includes several of the editors he accused of being part of the "Zionist cabal." Whether or not this is, in fact, a Zionist cabal, or whether it's just a cabal-of-buddies-who-act-abusively-and-as-a-group-can-pin-the-blame-on-the-other-party, I do not know, and it is not for me to judge. This cabal includes SlimVirgin, Jayjg, El C. Sean Black, Grace Note, and quite possibly more (I'm convinced Ed Poor was once in this cabal, but he has since fallen out of favor). Want evidence? Head on over to Wikipedia and watch the articles they edit - they overlap quite frequently. Look at the disputes they have been involved in - FuelWagon vs. Ed Poor, Disruptive Apartheid Editor, the libelous and defamatory attacks on this board - it's the same users involved, more or less, in each one. I'm certain that a thorough check of their contributions would reveal even more.

I observe on template talk:user review that El C seeems to be of the opinion that I should apologize for allowing Jackwelsh to post the things he did. My response, here, is that the only thing I am sorry for is not banning the jackasses whose sole intent was to disrupt and defame the board much sooner - Elros and Grace Note. Jackwelsh had some politics I don't agree with, but behind the politics, he was absolutely, 100% correct - and that scares Wikipedia.

And yes, I know that by posting this, I am dooming any possibility that this disruptive cabal will ever agree to allow links to this board or to threads on this board, either from articles, talk pages, templates, etc. (Although I think that they at least have the courtesy to leave userpages alone). But hey, the truth hurts sometimes, ya know?

Me too. Why can't we all just join up and start our own cabal, too?

I dunno about "Zionist", I am pretty sure GraceNote isn't Jewish (he was talking about his Irish-English heritage in our discussion). With the exception of the tamer IZAK and JayG, I think the "cabal" is basically a bunch of wannabes who think they're being righteous and saving the world, or something.

I don't know who this Jackwelsh person is (but don't tell me, I'll look it up). I haven't really been involved in Wikipedia politics unless one of the lists was threatened. I mostly work on actors....

Yes, I agree - I don't really know about Zionist either - I'm not convinced that religion or heritage is the motivation for their abuse - it could just simply be a superiority complex, or something else entirely.

If we are to believe the Wikipedia Review detractors, we are the cabal, although according to them there is no cabal on Wikipedia itself. Just here.

Isn't a cabal supposed to have power over everybody and be really hidden from obvious detection? Everyone knows we're here and nobody cares what we want, so that's at least two strikes against the cabal idea.

I'm Irish-Scots-German, yet Jewish. Some folks just get lucky. cool.gif

Did you convert, or were your ancestors the Scottish lost tribe of Israel?

All kidding aside, GraceNote was talking about how he was surpised that the term "Jewish-British" even exists, because for example, he wouldn't call himself "Irish-British" or "English-British" based on his heritage...

I must say, I'd never heard of "Jewish-British" until a few weeks ago. The normal term is "Anglo-Jewish". I suppose that's not politically correct these days, by excluding Scotland and Wales.

But I see nothing wrong with it. There's a recognised term "Black British"; it was even one of the ethnic categories on the 2001 census. If you can call yourself black and British, and it would be racism to say you can't, you can equally be Jewish and British, or anything else and British.

There is certainly a term "Anglo-Irish", and of course "English-British" is a nonsense; I might as well call myself "Londoner-British".

My mother converted before I was born. Since my mother was Jewish, I was Jewish. biggrin.gif

Come to think of it, there have been Jews in Scotland for centuries, so you can have ancestry that's Scottish and Jewish. And Lord George Gordon converted to Judaism.

Golbez, you are like Evan Rachel Wood (the slightly post-teenage film actress). cool.gif

Her father isn't Jewish. Her mother wasn't born Jewish, but converted to Judaism before Evan was born and stayed Jewish. Evan was sort of raised "both", but has called herself "Jewish" a few times.

This is an interesting rarity (because converts to Judaism usually marry Jews).
