_ The Wikimedia Foundation _ Let me tell you about Charity Navigator

Posted by: EricBarbour

Seen the http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.reviews&orgid=4509 for the Komen Foundation?

Oh looky, all 591 comments were erased. All I see is "591 reviews total. Average rating: 1.3 out of 5"

Try the "Archived Comments". You see stuff like this, over and over.....

"Don't take my word for it, check out this link:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/12/07/komen-foundation-charities-cure_n_793176.html
I'm really quite disgusted with the actions of this "charity" looks like its just another corporation trying to gain market share. Suing other charities for copy write infringement is not a good use of donations meant to fight cancer. Absolutely Disgusting."

Apparently this is how Charity Navigator works nowadays--
see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.

And Twitter and Facebook are on fire with angry rants against Komen
and their fearless leader, Nancy Brinker. They are having a "bad week".

Oh, btw, here's a http://pnhp.org/blog/2012/02/03/a-word-about-the-susan-g-komen-foundation/ I don't see on Charity Navigator:
"Komen made $471m last year, and only $75m went to research. For what cure?"

So much for Charity Navigator.

Puts the Wikimedia Foundation into some perspective, eh?
