This is an interesting article to me for a couple of reasons. Should WP even have an article on an extreme fetish that I assume is practised by a very small number of people? I don't really care if you want to do this in the privacy of your own home, but I also have no problem saying I think it is dangerous, freaky, and possibly a sign of mental illness. Including things like this in WP is a way of normalizing them, or at least making them equivalent to other more common, less extreme fetishes like transvestism. If WP does have an article on scrotal inflation, the existing article is the way it should be done. All the refs are to medical articles. There is an image of an inflated scrotum. (Yes, I know I complain about all the porn on WP and Commons, but if you are looking at the article on scrotal inflation it is completely appropriate to see the subject. I think most people can understand without an image that a porn movie shoot consists of two or more people being filmed while having sex, but this is probably harder to imagine accurately.) Thoughts? |
