Wikipedia's bullying of timecop grows worse this time. Options

timecop is a good editor who has worked to improve wikipedia, but he runs a trolling organization outsite of the site, so they hate him. His block log is just a bunch of the bad admins banning him unjustly for completely nothing and then other admins unbanning him.

So this time supposedly he's banned for good.

Everything there is either made up or extremely old. Admins generally say anything an admin did over 9 months ago can be forgiven and same for requests for adminship.

I think the recent one was that he nominated a non notable blog for deletion and it was a favorite article of some of the admins, so they proposed the person be banned and there they go.

It's not that I object to this editor being thrown out, I have an objection to why most of them are allowed in

According to the AN/I discussions, he was indef-blocked six times, and then unblocked each time... And according to the block log, the unblocks usually occurred within 24 hours. Hey, I wonder if that's some sort of record!

I guess he's good at sounding reasonable and apologetic when he wants to, eh? You often hear stories about people who get blocked, and within minutes they're on IRC, making a huge case out of it... However, it looks like he's probably gone for good this time.

Thing is, each time this story is played out, the person learns from it, and assuming what they learn isn't "forget the whole stupid thing forever" (recommended), it's often "next time, follow their rules, work within the system, rise in the hierarchy, and ultimately try to bring it down from the inside." Unfortunately, the system is rigged, and the chances of someone being able to actually do that are so slim (pun intended), there's just no way to cost-justify it in terms of the potential waste of time and effort.

I just wonder how many admins currently doing their worst at Wikipedia are actually sock puppets of former "trolls," deliberately stinking up the place to avenge a long-ago slight against them.
