Well, duh. Look at the first paragraph of the WWII article, and tell me that anyone without advanced computer skills could figure it out. Wikipedia has completely perverted the original intent of wiki markup and turned it into a programming language that only geeks can use and understand. It works for their purposes because the small group likes to control the content anyway. I recall them being very concerned about how difficult "markup" is in a recent survey. Seems that they've only just noticed...
