Many comments center around the eternal question of "what is a 'big-bust'?"

I am just noting that many lists have membership criteria which are not easily defined. In List of deaf people#Musicians with a hearing loss I expect that almost all rock musicians and many band musicians have "a hearing loss" due to exposure to sounds way over 100 dB for prolonged periods. Many vote "Keep" because "it wasn't deleted before"...

Speedy keep per the long string of previous, failed deletion attempts. I frankly find the nominator's tone quite uncivil and in violation of the assume good faith policy, given that he preemptively claims that this is a "demeaning and sexist" article, and that anyone who would choose to keep it hasn't "grown". Truth is, the dissemination of images of big busted women is fairly obviously referenceable by publications that the nominator might be embarrassed by. There aren't any problems here that aren't repairable by normal editing. And lists of people who qualify for their own articles do not need separate references in the list if their qualification for inclusion is verified on their own articles, either. - Smerdis of Tlön (talk) 15:49, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

This is definitely going to be one to add to WP:LAME. Like everything else in that Wiki, it illustrates neatly why WP hasn't even really solved any of the problems of knowledge classification, let alone the inductive part of epistemology. But, just like Ayn Rand, they figure if you can just do the one, you don't have to worry about the second. If I can categorize something TRULY (or reliably and verifiably) THEN I've GOT it. There are no further problems related to thinking it unless new data come in. wink.gif

This editor wants to know why, in the spirit of neutrality and NPOV, if there's a list of famously big-busted women, why there is NOT one for famously small-busted women?

Or one for women with slightly asymmetrical busts?

"My dear," said the lynx-eyed detective,
"Can it be that my eyesight's defective--
Or is it, your East tit
Has a bit on your West tit--
Or is it a trick of perspective...?"

And, why not one for famously big-bottomed women? smile.gif I'll bet, without even looking, that the Neolithic Venus carved statue is available on Commons.

Robert Mitchum was one. Although I doubt he volunteered. Is there an article for "pecker checker" or "short arm inspection"? It was (is?) an official duty in the US Army after all. Do ask and do tell, it was.

The list is crap anyway. If that was a complete list of all the women with big tits who'd ever performed in pornography, I'd be very, very bored with internet porn by now. There are only a handful of women on that list that I actually like, although admittedly many of them I am not familiar with, especially the 'retro' ones.

ooh, just found this one from the W-R:

http://wikipediareview.com/index.php?showtopic=12733

"JzG tries to lose his "big boob" rep., ...by voting to delete the "List of Big Bust Models""

What's the criteria for all those "List of..." articles anyway?
Usually, what the article is about has to be "notable" by reliable sources. Are there reliable sources that contain list or even awards, for this?

Do "Lists" articles get a special exemption from Notability laws?

Is this, and most other lists, WP:OR?

It's like porn is just another sport with its own trivia, like football or something. I'm aware there are adult movie award shows, as least according to Boogie Nights (The Dirk Diggler Story).

Has anyone groped Letha Weapons' BLP lately to see if multiple (crusty) socks from the same angry household in the UK have performed WP:OR on it?

Posted by: Piperdown

if Letha Weapons is on the list, she'll have to be put in the past tense.

Letha's Weapons, per some WP:OR on a WP:BLP (imagine that, a 100% Unsourced WP:BLP with many personal, intimate claims!), have been disarmed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letha_Weapons

QUOTE
Letha has since retired from the adult film industry, but in 2001 was featured in a comeback pictorial in Score magazine, with somewhat smaller breasts, due to removal of the original implants that made her famous. She also, at one time, had the highly controversial polypropylene "string" implants. Her breasts are now a Size 38FF-cup. She claimed the change was made due to safety and health concerns.

Letha is currently working regularly as a stripper at San Francisco's New Century Theater. She is married (her second husband) and has a young daughter from her first marriage.

But hey, she was in porn so its OK to put in a Wikipedia article that she's currently working at a strip joint without any references of fact.

guy is not winning friends from amongst the 10%-ers out there on WP. probably doesn't like WP user pages being used in such a, um, friendly way. The nude, self portrait FireIsland photo just coos "Come hither, Mr Shankbone!". Who knew that WP was a great place to post nude full body photos of yourself to get laid? And we complain about Slim's cartoon nudie avatar.

Benji's on opposite side of the Tig Bitty List than Guy. Which is ironic considering their WP editing habits (or IP secret ones in Guy's case!).

What will be Shankbone's reaction when he sees that his artistry has been downgraded?

But, I have another question, which I am afraid to research myself. About this "Meat Rack" zone on Fire Island, it appears to be a public space (actually called the Carrington Tract) in a federal National Seashore... so, is it possible that I could be strolling with my preschool-aged daughter along a trail, only to come upon a man like Shankbone depicted, being photographed by someone like Shankbone?

As an American taxpayer, do I not have some right, somewhere in law, to not have to encounter that with my child, on land that my tax dollars help pay for?

I'm not suggesting that I discriminate against homosexual sex here, either. It's the "public" part with which I have issues. If it were an anonymous woman who looked like http://www.pampita-ardohain.com.ar/varias_general.htm "racked up" to a pair of trees, soliciting free sex from passing heterosexual males, I'd also be deeply concerned about my child seeing that.

TA, perhaps you missed my point. Are the beaches at Paradise publicly-funded, or are they owned property of the gay clubs in Mykonos? Regardless, I don't pay taxes to any governmental agency in Greece.

I do pay taxes to the U.S. federal government, and Fire Island's "Meatrack" is in the Fire Island National Seashore. My United States tax dollars go toward preserving this land, and http://www.nps.gov/fiis/forkids/index.htm makes no mention that my kids should "expect" to see nude men getting boned by strangers.

Admittedly, there is one helpful warning that might help me during my visit:
QUOTE
Many of the park's paths and trails are marked by established boardwalks. By staying on these boardwalks, you can help protect native plants and animals, and help keep some of the native flora and fauna away from you.

There is, however, http://www.nps.gov/fiis/planyourvisit/annual-photo-contest.htm for David Shankbone to do there!

So, I guess if I didn't go out and participate in a letter-writing campaign and a sign-holding protest when a company in January 1990 released 100 gallons of sewage into a creek in Middletown Township, PA, I not only shouldn't scold my neighbor if I find him taking a dump in the common area across the street from my house, I should go out and applaud him, being that he's producing less waste than 100 gallons?

So, I guess if I didn't go out and participate in a letter-writing campaign and a sign-holding protest when a company in January 1990 released 100 gallons of sewage into a creek in Middletown Township, PA, I not only shouldn't scold my neighbor if I find him taking a dump in the common area across the street from my house, I should go out and applaud him, being that he's producing less waste than 100 gallons?

Nice logic, Adversary.

Yep, saying that you can only look at one problem at any one time is a horrible fallacy.

On another note, has anybody seen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amarcord? It is ages since I last saw it, but it has an absolutely unforgettable scene were the protagonist nearly suffocates... You look at big boobs in a different manner after seeing that movie!

That Fellini movie also has memorable a scene where a guy from a luntatic asylum climbs a tree and starts screaming "I want a woman!!!". I think the film Network a few years later, where the guy puts his head out the window and starts saying "I'm mad as hell and I'm taking it any more!" is a nod to Fellini.

Anyway, it's rather primal and it embarrasses this little Catholic town in the 1920's or whenever, and it takes a long time to get him down. I think they use a nun who is a dwarf on a ladder, like something from a modern David E. Kelley sitcom (he, like Chayefsky and Woody Allen, must all be Fellini fans). The whole movie is full of things very dreamlike, Freudian, and nostalgic. It was way ahead of its time for the 70's, for sure.

<sigh> Yeah, but there is a difference between a sparrow and an elephant. When people care too much about "the sparrows", I wonder what´s behind it. Really, Kosher, how much of your tax-money goes to keeping the beaches on Fire Island? As much as 5 cents? I doubt it is more. And I don´t think you really care about 5 cents. So why don´t you say it as it is: You cannot stand the thought of that a--hole Shanky getting anything, off anybody, for free. It´s ok! You can say it aloud! You are among friends here! (at least on this issue). I cannot stand mr. Me-me-ME-&-myself-Shankbone either. So say it aloud: You don´t want mr. Narcissus to enjoy anything, ever, after all the misery he has caused others.
But pleeease: don´t hide behind your holy 5-cent-tax-money fig-leaf. That looks...petty.

Ah yes; Voglio una donna! ..another totally unforgettable scene tongue.gif

There is another film from the 70´s which reminds me of Amarcord (not in content, but in form). It is the 1972 movie J'irai comme un cheval fou, ("I Will Walk Like A Crazy Horse") Viva la Muerte by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fernando_Arrabal. Fantastic movie! -about a boy/man whose father disappeared in the Spanish civil war (after being sentenced to death) --that is autobiography on Arrabal´s part. This boy/man then "sees" all the different ways his father could have been killed..accompanied by this eerily music: children singing very sweetly and innocently. That film really knocked me out, like few films ever have.

Both Amarcord and "I Will Walk Like A Crazy Horse" Viva la Muerte are described as "surrealistic", which is a pity, as that word mostly implies "exclusive", "intellectual", "difficult". But they are not. Right; they don´t have any straight narrative, but they are still among the most realistic movies I have ever seen; "realistic" in the sense that they manage to get across an intense feeling/knowledge/insight of the place/story. I know Rimini of the 1930´s after seeing Amarcord! (At least I feel I do tongue.gif )

Caveat: I haven´t seen "I Will Walk Like A Crazy Horse" Viva la Muerte for years; I have just ordered the DVD, and I´m so curious to see if it is still as powerful.
(sorry for going rather off-topic here)

I'll look for it. We're not in the lounge, but do not miss the film Babel if you haven't seen it. It is certainly not as dreamlike, but there's still that odd sense of suspention of judgementalism, and surreal connectedness between things not ordinarily connected. That you only get with Ayahuasca and a lot of less legal drugs smile.gif
