You certainly pass the duck test, Crum.
Well, excuse me!

I think there might have been a slip up here. Look at the history of the Brown Dog article above and compare SlimVirgin and Crum's contribs. SlimVirgin edited the article up to 22:18. She stopped editing, then Crum edited it at 22:39 (having edited nothing since 22:16). Slim then came in 1 minute later at 22:40 and carried on until 22:46- then 1 minute later Crum came in and made one edit at 22:47 and edited nothing else till 01:00 (EDIT: during which time SlimVirgin was constantly editing).

I don't think this is meat puppeting or coordinated edits. Are they coordinating so Crum makes 1 edit 1 minute before and 1 minute after a string of edits by SlimVirgin? Those sequence of edits above are highly indicative that Crum375 is not a separate person to SlimVirgin. She is likely using two browsers for each account which will be able to be picked up by checkuser unless she is using a proxy on one browser or something more sophisticated.

Of course, it would be very easy for her to do that.

Problem is (for her) that if you want to dig, proxies can be discovered and traced. You just need a few extra tools, time and patience to look at the peering relationships and netnames in addition to the IP.

This is deeper than CUs ever go, as far as I know. Though it might have been part of Durova's "secret weapon" which anyone knows is not secret at all.

Personally, I'm in the Crum-is-Slim camp.

Doesn't the play by play on this particular soap opera belong in the Editors forum?

Interesting. Rockpocket (who editied the ALF article) arrived "to the rescue" of "Private correspondence" to help crush Larry Cohen's edits, last week. I was told he was probably Felonius Monk. But I thought he was a Durova sock.

I think Rockpocket is British so not a Durova sock- is Felonius Monk British?

FM British? No clue. I didnt have that impression.

Rockpocket edits a lot about Southern California, which doesn't necessarily mean he/she is American, but it is a point.

Besides that, what would keep someone from adding u to color (and other such "u"-missing words), swapping "whilst" for "while" and using third person singular ("Wikipedia do that") to emulate British writing style?

Exactly what is all the fighting about? This is an excellent article, in my opinion.

Which article do you mean? I'm lost lol.

Crum and G are currently rowing over the 'private correspondence' policy, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Pri..._correspondence - an attempt to make sure they can do all this again and get away with it which is even more amateurish than WP:SECRET.

I am certain that RP is British. Apart from the California wildfires which was big news in the UK as well I can't see any concentration on Californian subjects. I don't really see that RP has done anything wrong that would make you suspect they must be sockpuppeting?

Having said that RP's first edits in December 2005 don't look like newbie edits but that obviously doesn't prove they are sockpuppeting, just that they switched username.

EDIT: Possible apologies DL unsure.gif this ip claimed by RP does trace to California, specifically the Scripps Research Institute.

I think RP is probably a British expat what with their interest in Richard Blackwood, Jade Goody, Jeremy Clarkson, Ian Brady, Steve Coogan and last but not least, Bungle from Rainbow.

As far as posting in separate browsers (or tabs), check out SV's message to David Shankbone the other day, less than a minute after her post on another page. She then realized the message to DS was on the wrong part of the page.

I think it would be separate browsers then you could be logged into two different accounts at the same time.

True, but you would need both so you could have one browser with several tabs for each account. Then you could write up a whole series of posts for each and space them however you want.

Are Crum and SlimVirgin joined by some kind of leash? ohmy.gif

yes, its called IM.

And yes, Crum is now a SPA account. As Gerard would say, "per contributions". that SPA being SV's tag-team partner. and that tag-team is a supergroup: both have admin banhammers.

I've often wondered why the good guys don't get to have tag-teams.

Well, tag teams are bad by Wikidefinition, and SlimVirgin is also good by Wikidefinition. Therefore, SlimVirgin can not be part of a tag team.

It's not unknown, but they don't last long, because they get blocked as sockpuppets.
