Time's on our side.

As time goes on more and more of their ranks dwindle away. I figured a place to remind us of the ones we've gotten rid of would be warranted.

What is exactly his problem? I don't understand. Going through his recent contributions doesn't turn up any big fight. Maybe he ran into some problems with a secret sockpuppet of his?

I don't think Crzrussian is a full-blown cabal member, but anyway he's been de-sysopped and gone into semi-retirement under an assumed name.

Okay, but perhaps we should make it clear (for anyone reading this thread who isn't familiar with the situation) that we didn't get rid of them... It would be more accurate to state that various circumstances and problems with the website (and its user community) in general led to their getting rid of Wikipedia. Although, of course, most of them do go back sooner or later.

Who is User:AudeVivere, by the way? Mr. Freak mentions his (successful) RfA nomination of this user as something for which he'll never forgive himself, along with adding a Welcome template to Everyking's talk page, getting involved in the Esperanza Advisory Board elections, and also RfA-nominating User:Sir_Nicholas_de_Mimsy-Porpington. Also, a recently-adminned user, User:Newyorkbrad, seems to be somehow involved...

A lot of unanswered questions, but he seems to imply on his user page that it is obvious what the issue is. Did he discuss this on IRC or in some private ICQ/email discussions with other users? I didn't realize that Everyking has a run in with Mr. Freak, but there are some things I miss.

I know that User:Sir_Nicholas_de_Mimsy-Porpington was involved in the recent 3RR unblock/block argument that resulted in a stalemate that was mentioned in the SlimVirgin thread a week or so ago, but Mr. Freak wasn't involved as far as I can tell. There is something going on that we are missing. This makes me so curious.

He's back. It was just a temper tantrum and cry for attention as usual. You can find it all in the history where he asks others to give him reasons to come back:

I didn't realize that, either. Where does he talk about not forgiving himself for adding a welcome template to my page?

It's on the same revision linked to above - this diff. You're Number One on the list, EK! And I just realized how weird this is. On your current RfA, which appears unlikely to succeed, Freakofnurture posted what I felt was the strongest "support" vote of anybody. And yet, two weeks ago he won't forgive himself for having posted a Welcome template on your talk page?

What's up with that? huh.gif Hold on, I think I know - were you blocked at the time, EK...? Maybe he sincerely feels bad about it, like putting the n00b Welcome message on was supposed to be a joke, and it actually came off looking, I dunno, mean-spirited? Like he was "piling on," maybe?

In other news, User:Alkivar, who AFAIK is decidedly non-cabalish and actually one of the better admins (as well as a fellow DC native), has decided to take an indefinite holiday. He doesn't seem to have left on a particularly positive note, either!

Oh yeah, I remember that now. Yes, he was getting in a jab about me coming back from my two week Arb ban. He shouldn't worry about it, it's like a pinprick to someone already covered in battle scars, and I'm quite grateful for his strong support in the RfA.

And that's too bad about Alkivar, who I've found to be a good and likeable guy after we had an early altercation over two years ago. Ever since then, including on the RfA just now, which he supported, he needles me about "cruft", but I don't get the impression that he's actually a deletionist. Oh well, I hope he comes back.

Doc Glasgow has quit, at least for the moment. Quite a nice departing blast.

My vague impression was the Doc was pretty cabalist in his day, but it seems the scales have at least partly fallen from his eyes.

The edit history is very confused here. Doc seems to have added a note signed by NewYorkBrad, then edited the NYB signature out of it later. Weird.

Writing four featured articles made me a danger to the project.

I admit it - I *hated* Doc with a fire reserved for very few at one point. He slowly became possibly my favorite contributor and certainly one of my favorite admins - very even handed and very clear, even when I disagreed with him.

This is a very poor loss for the project if he stays away any length of time.

Apparently Malber was blocked for like, a whole week, for "abusive sock puppetry" when CheckUsers were run on some other accounts flagged by User:Netsnipe and User:Future_Perfect_at_Sunrise as having "similar editing patterns." Malber explained the similar IP addresses as being due to the other editors working for the same company and operating behind the same corporate router.

He was one of the leaders of the Delete Brandt Resistance, actually, so that has to count for something...?

Anyway, I've removed Malber from the "Trolls" group and cleared his avatar setting, so he's welcome to tell the world what he thinks of Mr. Netsnipe and Mr. Sunrise here, if he so wishes. (Other admins should feel free to reverse this action of mine if I've, you know, done something bad...) unsure.gif

You have to admit, it's a little ironic that we've known his IP address here all along, and even though he was one of the nastier members we've had, it was the Wikipedia people who exposed it, not us!
