The Oyo Empire article claims that this empire still exists. Is this true?

It's a tough call. I think it's kind of misleading to say that an empire exists when it lacks any geographic borders, military, or power to collect taxes. On the other hand, the people are there and they seem to have some sort of organization and official recognition.
At any rate, it's an interesting story. That guy doing the research should try to write a book. |
