In this thread: a miserable little arsewipe throws stones from a glass house.

Treat people unfairly and find yourself treated unfairly down the road. Karma in action, I'd say.

Karma always swings around in the end Sceptre. I thought you would have already figured that out from your ban, failed RFAs, losing rollback, etc.

Did you actually think you could get away with your childish antics?

Leave poor Sceptre alone, 4 years addicted to Wikipedia, hasn't the poor bastard suffered enough?

Maybe he should seek psychiatric help for his obvious masochistic tendencies.

I think that, in general, the Committee does a good job of looking at an editor holistically. In the case of Sceptre, there's quite a sordid past. No user is the Defender of the Wiki™, much as they might want to be—edit warring nearly always does more harm than good.

The Committee's admonishment of poor conduct and attempt to prevent future misconduct seems perfectly reasonable.

On a related note, I was quite glad to see the silly "permanent semi-protection" measures voted down.

Yeah, WP saved that permanent semi-protection for the important biographies.

With just the slightest knowledge of how it actually functions, semi-protection is absolutely meaningless. Create an account, sit for 4 days, make 10 edits...you are now autoconfirmed.

Not meaningless. It serves as a deterrent.

A deterrent to the random troll, sure, but it provides no protection from committed and dedicated vandals, of which the wikipedia has many. The Virgin Killer article is the subject of a never-ending stream of this, though some here would see that one as a good thing.

I should point out that the Bush article was the reason semi-protection was introduced in the first place, so it really makes sense that Obama (and any successors) be afforded indefinite semi-protection, in the sense of "we don't know when the protection will end" as opposed to "forever and ever and ever". While protection shouldn't be pre-emptive, unprotection shouldn't be done under the assumption the protection was pre-emptive either.

I know Sceptre as a sometime supporter of BADSITES idiocy... isn't he the one who thumped his chest about how Wikipedia will never, ever keep an article about Encyclopedia Dramatica, shortly before the current incarnation of that article was finally kept?

Hah.

Urban Rose is being clearly disruptive and is borderline Wikistalking me (see her WR posts as 'Pussy Galore'). Why are we even having this conversation? Sceptre (talk) 13:00, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

You revert my post on WP:AN and then wonder why were having this conversation? The posts I made to the deletion review could have been justly reverted as disruptive, but your reverting my posts on Wikipedia:AN was blatantly disruptive. And what ever I said about you on Wikipedia Review isn't stalking, how ever rude it may have been. And no, Sceptre, having tried to get the article Encyclopedia Dramatica recreated (something which I'll probably never do again) is not stalking either.--Urban Rose 13:07, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

NOW, can we agree that Sceptre is a little shit?.......

In that thread, JzG said "I've always found Sceptre to be perfectly decent", which basically proves that Sceptre is a total jerk. (And that thread is where I first brought the Lisa Simpson quote that's still in my sig here into Wikipedia debate.)

I'm not going to deny that I can be a jerk. Although, it isn't a copy-JzG thing. He stole my signature, not the other way around.
