Still, from what I hear, kids in the Dominican Republic are usually pretty cool about being picked up and waved around like martini shakers. They have earthquakes there, so they're probably used to that sort of thing.
Regardless, it's good they were able to find a toddler for the photo-op - anyone older, and there'd be a good chance the kid would have already been subjected to at least a 48-hour block.
