_ Articles _ Why no Doritos Locos Tacos?

Posted by: Emperor

Another bang up job by Wikipedia:

Firstly, I am distressed by lack of any mention of Doritos Locos Tacos, especially after all this talk about Wikipedia being updated all the time and so much more timely than that fossil Britannica.

And finally, what's with the giant subsection: "Dispute with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers"?

It seems to me to be part of a larger trend of people misunderstanding that in order for any business to do anything, it's going to occasionally get into disputes with people, and resolve those disputes, and once in a while maybe it even might be in the wrong. It's a lot more difficult to make safe delicious food for millions of people than it is to sit in mom's basement editing Wikipedia.

Real encyclopedia editors would recognize that Taco Bell is about fast food, not labor disputes, prioritize accordingly.

That is what WP:UNDUE is for. It is an extremely useful tool in polishing articles about companies to ensure that only particularly relevant material appears. Of course, as with all policies it only works if you can ensure consensus or at least get the agreement of passing admins.

Thanks. I'd thought there would be more interest in Taco Bell by now.

Yes I've heard of things like UNDUE, consensus, getting admins to agree with you. If these things are so great, why is the article so awful?

...why is the article so awful?

It really is odd, given what "taco" is sometimes a slang term for, and considering that one of Taco Bell's iconic marketing images is of a "http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Masturbation_Techniques_-_swinging_cock_(animated).gif&action=history".

I do not know. I have never edited it.

Because the article's authors have actually tried one of their tacos?
