Interesting question arose on Jimmy's Talk page...

It seems that back in January 2004, Jimbo opened a sales affiliate account with Amazon ("wikipedia08-20"), probably to see how it might work as a kick-back to the WMF. Strange, that some time later, Amazon would vomit up $10,000,000 all over Wikia, Inc.

It will be interesting to see what Jimbo says in response to Lunchboxhero.
