Overshadowed by David Gerard's stupidity is this little conflict where ChildOfMidnight (him again?) demands the de-tooling of three admins -- Cirt, GWH and John Carter -- while Carter, in turn, demands that COM get blocked. Just to clarify -- these characters are all adults, yes? Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing both sides get what they want. ![]() |

Certainly one of them is high on my list of bad admins. Cirt is one of Durova's favorite ninja attack dogs He was once known as Smee and then Smeelgova. As such he accumulated a block record and a bad rep as a PoV warrior on Scientology topics, yet under a new psuedo and Durova's tutoring on how to play the Wikigame he got through RFA. His latest target has been Wetman; one of Wiki's finest editors and a genuine high class, low profile, low drama act. Wetman's main crime is being a good friend of Giano's. His mop should be broken over his head and the pointy bits inserted into whatever cavity provides the smallest target. |

Scroll down, Eric -- the stuff is there a few paragraphs below. Cirt is one of Durova's favorite ninja attack dogs He was once known as Smee and then Smeelgova. His mop should be broken over his head and the pointy bits inserted into whatever cavity provides the smallest target. I am no fan of the three admins that COM cites (John Carter, in particular, is an irritating idiot). But, yes, Cirt is among the most incompetent admins around and his RfA went beyond gaming the system into pure abusing the system. |

A voice calling for CoM's indef blocking:
Strong support. CoM can be lovely one moment and vile the next - the work he's done with a "lovely" persona should not exclude his vileness. Ironholds (talk) 10:10, 3 December 2009 (UTC) Hmmm...is this the same Ironholds who writes lovely articles about British jurists but who had five or six RfAs fail due to concerns about the obnoxious aspects of his online personality? |

Cirt has been causing a shakeup on WikiQuote, too. He lead the charge to get Kalki desysoped for using sockpuppets.
Cirt is a very legalistic, bureaucratic sort of editor who has no understanding of wiki editors with harmless idiosyncrasies like Kalki. He wants a pure, legalistic environment on every wiki he works on, based on my observations of him. I like people to follow the rules, too, but I understand the need to be different and that eccentricities are fine as long as they are outweighed by good contributions and collaboration (why do you think WR allows people of all different opinions and personalities to post here?). Kalki was a long-time WikiQuote editor and he did not deserve the treatment he got from Cirt and his supporters. Cirt wants everyone to be a Borg, and I find his efforts annoying and demoralizing on every project he participates on. |

I like Kalki and he was a far better admin than some people I (or The Joy) could mention.
Still, he had over 200 socks on WQ and some of them were used to stack discussions. http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/User:FloNight/Kalki I've checked and some of them were also active on other sites (WS and Commons mainly) so he could have been had for socking in several places. Looks as if he was rumbled last year because most of them were "Identified in July 2008" so it must have been covered up but he carried on. I refused to vote in the no confidence motion because I thought he was too good an admin to lose, but really what do you do with an editor - a bureaucrat - like that? Cirt on WQ in general is an interesting subject maybe worthy of its own thread. |

When you need an excel spreadsheet to keep track of all your accounts, you need a new hobby. And yes, I realize this applies to several people here, too. |

All I did was to bring up an issue concerning images, and the thread suddenly became flooded with giant walls of text. I also see that the image issue was discussed on the WR previously: Wikiquote too. I don't see why Wikiquote even needs images. To humour Kalki and his crowd of "acolytes" who like garnishing articles with pretty but irrelevant images. They are indeed irrelevant. Holy Grail, for example. Why does it feel like they copy pasted the film's script, took out a few segues, added some wikimarkup, and declared it a Wikiquote GFDL page? *braces self* This post has been edited by Michaeldsuarez: Thu 2nd February 2012, 3:21pm |

The issue between Kalki and Cirt is apparently still ongoing. All I did was to bring up an issue concerning images, and the thread suddenly became flooded with giant walls of text. http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Cirt ![]() I'd have asked Cirt not to do that, and would have deleted the pages, which simply create a mess. Wikiversity, generally -- at least it used to be true! -- doesn't block editors who have not been disruptive at Wikiversity, and it has been discouraged, tagging and perhaps attempting to humiliate editors who have had problems elsewhere. Indeed, the only example recently would be Poetlister1, blocked by SB_Johnny, based on the global ban decided at meta. I unblocked, after discussion and no consensus for the block, SBJ emergency-desysopped me (even though I planned no further actions, even though I was under a standard stop agreement that meant I could be immediately desysopped or emergency blocked if I acted after a warning from another sysop -- and I hadn't been warned), and then blocked me for asking for custodial attention to Ottava misbehavior, the usual. So maybe things are different at Wikiversity now, since nothing has been done about my unblock request. SBJ apparently owns the place.
