Up until I removed it, the entire article was copied straight from the back of each of the trading cards.

Interesting.

I don't have the cards to look over, so I can't verify that there was indeed a violation, but I wouldn't doubt it.

It's interesting how Wikipedia responded to the removal. First, an overzealous vandal fighter blindly reverted the edit. Second, User:Zzuuzz thanked the IP by blocking it as an open proxy.

It's an odd combination of plagiarism and original research in one shot.

Read the intro. It says that each card has a brief bio, lists the major works, and has a quotes section. And voila, that's exactly what was in the old version for each philosopher.
