Considering a couple of days passed between Tarantino's initial posting here and the Shankbone version, it appears that Mr. Miller is an active reader of WR and decided to "borrow" the information.

The notion that Tarantino and Shankbone are sharing a toothbrush is utterly ridiculous.

Considering a couple of days passed between Tarantino's initial posting here and the Shankbone version, it appears that Mr. Miller is an active reader of WR and decided to "borrow" the information.

The notion that Tarantino and Shankbone are sharing a toothbrush is utterly ridiculous.

I hope that is the case, for Mr. Tarantino's sake...Did anybody else notice that Shankers failed to mention using fake Wikipedia pages for spoofing in his brilliant coverage?

The French Rothschilds were made barons by Emperor Francis I of Austria in 1822, in the aftermath of the Napoleonic wars. That's where the "de" comes from. Yes, it means quite a bit in these here parts....

If this guy hadn't used the "de", it might have been a little less obvious....but he still got caught.

He's also blogged there as Stefan Roberts and was once known as His Excellency Lord Stefan Roberts of Jersey. I tried to point this out as a comment there, but I fear it will forever be "awaiting moderation". Maybe valleywag would enjoy getting a dig in at Huff.

Hmmm, Tarantino mentions alerting Valleywag and soon a story appears which features David Shankbone. I mean, come on, do I have to connect the dots? Tarantino=Shankbone!! I'm just surprised he didn't get a picture credit for the shot of Stefan Roberts!

He actually did mention Wikipedia Review:

The Huffington Post was contacted by members of the Wikipedia Review, who caught on when Wikipedia was continually deleting the fake biographies of both Stefan Roberts and Stefan de Rothschild, and also Stefan’s fake father “Andrew de Rothschild” (here’s that discussion – worth a read). However, HuffPo still has him up.

What he didn't do was link to the discussion where it would have been obvious that all his evidence originated there. The "here's that discussion" links to the WP AN/I thread, not to here.

Not to be off topic, but I know of a fake Rockefeller who used a screen grab of his removed Wikipedia entry to continue to support his loose "implication" in heritage. He is pretty crafty in how he has gotten away with it, in that it is his true last name, and merely implies he is related by his loose associations, business associates and the claims of those he has associated with.
Eventually it caught up with him, and Wikipedia took it down, but not before he did his screen grab to post on his own website.
I am curious how Wikipedia feels about people using entries removed with screen grabs on other sites?

So, Wikipedia : we've had "Lee Dennison", "Stefan de Rothschild" and now a fake Rockefeller. So, how do you feel about this?

The important part is that the guy was a faker, and although no journalist caught it, he was busted when he caught the attention of Wikipedia reviewers who noticed he kept putting the same fake pages up on the encyclopedia I’ve linked to four times in this post.

I've already pointed out to this guy that he's got the wrong "wikipedia reviewers" here...and also to point out the "Lee Dennison" incident....

If you think David Shankbone would have scooped a story on Wikipedia Review, then waited a couple of days to rehash it on his own blog property, then you don't know David very well. If Tarantino is Shankbone, then it would have been the other way around.
