There seems to be something about the contemporary modalities of Internet discussion that hyper-ventilates every topic without ever truly airing them out. This will be my current attempt to start again in a different way, to address the prospects for a learning culture arising in the social media around us. As I write, I see little more than one shattered dream after another — but I cannot accept the present state of things as being all that might be.
