Uncle Miltie has nailed it. Full stop.

Yep. Assholery begins where empathy ends.

That would make empathy more of a colon than a full stop.

Oh, the irony... rolleyes.gif

They're still using that photo on the Huffington Post, too. (Uncredited...)

Not sure I understand the question - most of those profiles are fake, including the one for Livingston. That was the other half of the reason for the lawsuit...

Anyone know any techniques on how to access a page that's been subsequently removed from Google cache and not available on the Internet Archive?

All you can do is save it while it's still there - webcitation.org is useful for that, but once it's already gone it's too late to do anything with that.

I know that Daniel, Tarantino and I have all saved some of those pages... any page in particular?

Despite the small flurry of attention given to this story in the press and the long-running saga here, our fictional casting director appears to be largely forgotten on WP. Forgotten, but still not gone. Not very impressive, is it?

Clearly that's someone having a bit of fun (see this earlier edit from the same IP), but I thought they were going to put in some sort of word-filter doohickey on that? If they're not careful, this will become a "meme," and they'll be dealing with it for months. rolleyes.gif

They should do.

But there's are other legitimate uses of "Lee Dennison":

Admiral Robert Lee Dennison (April, 1901–1980)

H. Lee Dennison (Democrat) of Suffolk County, New York

The H. Lee Dennison Suffolk County Executive Building

This is old binmore, not new, so i'll put it here.

Did anyone see this before? i don't remember seeing this before.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Dur...Chopping_cheeks

It says that the BBC actually complained about Lee Dennison spam in 2006, but, I can find the complaint. Can someone find and post the copy of this complaint here? is it possible for a normal person to see it?

Was it the BBC who complained? This section of the "investigations" page from around that time doesn't say... Anyway, those links might be worth adding to the blog entry, but it already mentions the 2006 Binmore campaigns (that's when most of the "action" occurred, actually).

Anyway, I guess we have to assume that both Durova and DragonflySixtySeven (T-C-L-K-R-D) forgot all about it, or were content to just have the Binmore edits reverted by RC patrollers or whoever happened to be watching the relevant articles. It's also possible that they didn't have the wherewithal to do anything more than that, given the limitations of MediaWiki, which were presumably worse in 2006 than they are now.

That is what User Dragonfly67 says, that she received a complaint from the BBC. I have no idea on how OTRS works -- i didn't need to until i started paying attention to this livingston stuff. Can someone with access (Alison, maybe?) check old OTRS complaints from 2006?

Really, it just strengthens every argument here, whether Livingston or complaints here at WR about BLP policy, doesn't it. It seems someone did go through official channels, complained, it was recognized that his (and other) pages were being vandalized with Lee Dennison stuff, and there was no follow up once the same vandalism started again.

Its too bad Livingston's lawyers didn't do more research into wikipedia before filing their complaint, as it would have been strengthened greatly both legally and PR wise if they had done all this research in advance. Its not that hard, is it? wink.gif

Related - [[Mark Anstee]] at Deletionopedia, and [[Mark Anstee]] still living with Lee Dennison at Freebase...
