_ The Wikipedia Annex _ Who is the most decent person of the curent arbitrators?

Posted by: mbz1

I am interested to hear opinions on who is the most decent person of the current arbitrators, and maybe on who used to be a most decent person of all arbitrators ever. Thanks.

After having read the Arbcom leaks, I don't think that anyone has any illusions left at all concerning those people

...that said, I personally feel sorry about their position of having to take out the trash for the WMF, even if they do it volontarily....

Oh, what the heck...Xeno is a good guy. smile.gif

I think John Vandenberg has always been at least mildly supportive of me, so I think I have to cast my vote for him as "most decent".

Ira Brad Matetsky refused to answer my simple question about who paid for his airfare and lodging to go meet with the WMF'ers in San Francisco, so I'm not going to vote for him here now.

Based on what I saw in those leaks, I would have said Iridescent, but is Iridescent no longer eligible?

Xeno is a good boy, but he is a very scared boy too.
A few months ago I asked him a question about an administrator conduct, or rather misconduct.
I used his meta talk page because I am blocked on wikipedia, and because I prefer
to ask my questions on wiki for transparency.
http://meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3AXeno&action=historysubmit&diff=2887005&oldid=1411160

OK, I understand that maybe meta was not exactly the right place to ask questions about English wikipedia, but even so, why to delete the question like it was a bomb ready to explode? It just did not look right. it looked as Xeno was afraid of my question, and wanted to hide it. It looked as he was afraid of my question because he knew it was a legitimate question, and he knew I was right.

I've always had a lot of respect for Kirill, Sir Fozzie and Brad (even though I've picked on them in the past), I'm not sure if that's same as decent. Our own Beloved Fox seems like a decent fellow though he didn't exactly stand out in the past year. Iridescent seems weird, possibly overrated but maybe somewhat decent (voted for him last time).

Coren and Risker are straight up WMF people and pretty much everything they do is with a view towards making sure WMF doesn't have to deal with any trouble.

John V seems alright, but... there's some decisions which really make me question his judgment. Same thing for Xeno (who also doesn't stand out much otherwise).

I thought Knight Lago ok too but he left.

The rest, even with their statements etc. are just so bland that it's hard to tell.

Oh and I always forget that CHL (The One here on WR) is even an arbitrator.

I think that he does as well....and maybe that's to his credit?

NYBrad...well, he pretends to listen and promises a lot. But you can't count on him for anything. He's responsible for Shankbone being allowed to continue his rampage for months, even though he had the good to ban his ass to Hell and back.

That's how I see it.

It depends on what you want him for. I think the reputation that he's super-soft and doesn't want to ban anyone is well deserved - and sometimes that means he goes easy on folks like Shankbone (and I can think of several others). I wonder what a two person NYBrad/Sandstein committee would be like. Maybe like Wikipedia's version of Perfect Strangers or something.

Who cares---Geni and Hersfold, two of the most downright evil man-boys Wikipedia has ever seen,
are both running for Arbcom. If they get in, any questions of "goodness" will be neutralized.

Well, not such a big deal, but here's my Hersfold's story:

When a heavily involved with me Malik Shabazz first performed a dirty grave dancing at my talk page, and then, when I reverted him, blocked me, I posted an unblock request. The reason for the unblock was malik's involvement with me.
Hersfold declined my unblock request with an idiotic comment: "You should have known better" although actually it was malik and Hersfold himself http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators#Involved_admins evilgrin.gif

According to the above I do not believe Hersfold would be a good arbitrator.

The arbitrator Filiocht (T-C-L-K-R-D) was the best arbitrator ever, IMHO.

Coincidentally, my favorite U.S. President is Benjamin Harrison (T-H-L-K-D).

I keep forgetting that you don't have access to the seekret area.
Will PM you.
