Any admin who has abused his or her power to delete an article under AfD discussion in explicit defiance of the process should be desysopped, absolutely. If it has happened before and hasn't led to major repercussions, then that is a major problem. The worst quality an admin can have is an unwillingness to respect community processes and decisions, and that's what Jaranda displayed here.

I disagree. His reconfimation RFA only barely passed, and when I switched to oppose, Jaranda PM'd me and begged me to switch back, promising he'd never ask for his tools to be removed again. I think his sysop/desysop must be a record on Wikipedia. He passed on his 7th RFA (a record in itself) in July 2006. Resigned a month later. Became an admin again in later that month (August), then resigned again in October. Resysopped in November, then a nice long break before removing them in June. Had a reconfirmation RFA that barely passed, a month later, then resigned for the fourth time in September. Now he's an admin again, on another account. Frankly, I find it ridiculous. This should be a case of the stewards either refusing the desysop request in the first place, or if he goes mad, never ever let him be an admin again. I personally find it an abuse of the process. Jaranda/Jbeach56, next time, JUST LEAVE! Don't ask to be desysopped every single time.

The question I still ask though is, when will he resign again?

What good is "community" and "consensus" when editing disputes are "settled" when 3 socks of the same person bully another person via "consensus" into the socks' POV on an article? a POV that is shared by a complicit admin who has no problems with the sock shows?

You clearly did abuse your tools - you knowingly deleted an article in order to get yourself desysopped. I don't suppose you'll abuse your tools... I'm just tired of seeing you sysopped/desysopped so often (yes, it's only been 5 times, that's still a lot). And I'm not going anywhere near ArbCom, thanks...
