As someone else commented in the BLPN discussion, sexuality is clearly a notable topic in the world, with multiple places where homosexuality is considered illegal and punishable by death or other places where the public utilizes "rehabilitation rape". The world considers sexuality to be important and notable, or we wouldn't have so many news sources discussing the minutiae of a person's sexuality.
Until the time that sexuality is no longer considered an important distinction, Wikipedia should continue to mirror the world and describe sexuality as a notable phenomenon, which includes listing and categorizing the people with a sexuality alternate to the norm.
