_ Forum Information (Readme!) _ Ignoring Members

Posted by: The Joy

The purpose of Wikipedia Review is to provide meaningful critiques and discussion regarding Wikipedia, the Wikimedia Foundation and its other projects, Web 2.0, social media, and other related topics. However, for whatever reason, members here may find it difficult to deal with specific members' posts or private messages. The forum's software allows for "ignoring" members in order to ease tension and allow members to co-exist. The ignore feature is only possible for registered members of Wikipedia Review.

To ignore posts by specific posters:
Profile and Options -> Your Control Panel -> Options -> Manage Ignored Users

A space for the ignored member's post can be seen, but one will have to "release" the post to see its contents.

Ignoring Private Messages (PMs) from specific posters:
Profile and Options -> Messenger -> PM Buddies/Block List

Un-ignoring a member's posts and/or PMs can be done in the same way as ignoring members.

Exceptions:
The software does not permit members to ignore posts or PMs from members listed as Global Moderators, Staff, or Staffy.
