Magnotta is a serial wikipedia sockpuppeteer and a would be serial killer who must now be asking who he has to kill to make his wikipedia article delete-proof?

Holy shit!

I know the WP folks will get all pissy for my having said this, but I don't think any sane person can look at this situation and not think the AfDs on this guy's no-doubt-autobiographical article(s) helped to tip this guy over the edge. I mean, this dude makes Mark Binmore look like a "harmless crank."

It's too bad that WR is all but a dead site now - there was a time not long ago when an incident like this would get things revved up around here like nobody's business. Maybe it'll be like that again someday, but I'm afraid that day will come too late to take much advantage of this particular story.

Perhaps if everyone Over There™ wasn't so busy riding Fae's nuts, they might notice these sorts of news events...

Here's the page history of the original "Luka Rocco Magnotta" article. CharlieEchoTango recently restored it:

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&page=Luka_R_Magnotta

It was restored due to the following request:

You have to wonder how long it will be before Magnotta edits the article.

He also has an extensive ED article and a history of socking it. http://encyclopediadramatica.se/Luka_Magnotta

ED has even put out a "press release" trumpeting this.

Also, Magnotta attempted an AFC at wikipedia a few weeks ago to get a new article created. Unfortunately, Bearcat deleted the AFC request yesterday to protect wikipedia's reputation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Luka_Magnotta

The Wikipedians are giving that attention-seeking psychopath exactly what he wants. They're giving him an entire article dedicated to him rather than renaming it.

ED can't exactly take the high road here (can they ever?) as they go to the extent of having a gallery of images from the snuff film.

Meh.

Seems unlikely.
