The study finds that anonymous, IP-number editors are as reliable as long-term, registered contributors. Why am I not surprised?

So maybe Jimbo will just smile and encourage people to freely donate their contributions to WP, snickering under his breath. Of course, editing WP has little to do with the idiotic Randist view of altruism, because the editor does get a certain sort of reward. Consider that when Jayjg edits the circumcision articles to reflect his pro-snippy views, he's not doing it out of the kindness of his heart, he's making a political statement by altering a public "encyclopedia" to support his views.
