I'd like to take a moment from our regularly-scheduled Wikipedia criticism to announce the launch of my website, Encyc.org.

There are two parts to this project: a free wiki-encyclopedia called the Encyclopedia Nova Caesarea, and a forum, called the Encyc.org Forum.

The Wikipedia Review is a serious criticism site. It aims to have a high signal to noise ratio, especially in the public areas, and thus has little tolerance for unnecessary drama, self-contemplation, and protracted off-topic discussions. Moderators have deleted posts and moved threads out of public view to keep this forum on-mission.

I think this leaves an unfulfilled need out there, and would like to offer forum.encyc.org as an alternative. This can be a place where people can post more freely, and feel secure that the messages they worked hard to compose will stay in a public forum available to anyone with internet access.

Some of the moderators and staff here have graciously endorsed forum.encyc.org as a place to go when off-topic flamewars develop. I agree, and I intend to participate both here and on my own site for the foreseeable future. I'd like the relationship between the two sites to remain as complementary and collegial as possible.

Additionally, please don't forget to check out pages such as Wikipedia and Wikipedia Resignation Statements in the Encyclopedia, and contribute if you'd like.
