Haven't been able to follow all the Ins & Outs of this affair, but could someone please explain to me why anyone is celebrating any kind of victory here? I mean, it looks to me like Wikipediocrats have succeeded in abrogating Piper↓'s freedom of association and freedom of speech all in one foul swipe.

What Piperdown has done is to demonstrate how much work it takes to achieve a rare exception to Moulton's Law: One a bureaucracy makes a mistake, it can't be fixed.
