No offence to JzG- this is just as a comment on the activity, o.k?- but regular cycling can have certain negative effects on a man. BBC

We've used the somewhat corny term (no offense to any Iowans here) 'Deathwatch' on three threads, each time with a distinctly different connotation or tacit expectation or hoped-for outcome.

Perhaps we can adopt a more expressly hopeful term for each one. Something like this:

Cla68 Vindicationwatch

JzG Redemptionwatch

SV Enlightenmentwatch

Filll Epiphanywatch

FeloniousMonk Remorsewatch

I don't support the name of this thread remaining as is. It's needlessly insulting to name the thread itself this way, in my view.

Actually, it insults me more than it insults anyone on WP. For one thing, it's juvenile and lame. I'd be embarrassed to use such puerile epithets. If you're gonna insult someone, at least have the class to steal something indecent from Shakespeare...

the pure lovecraftian terror when I find myself glancing at myself in the mirror and see looking back at me one of those exotically crowned, unnaturally high-foreheaded race known as a Wikipedian, those eldritch horrors that every family unfortunate enough to be fated to conceive has seen fit to hide in the catacombs beneath their mansion, for seeing these creatures causes in those who must look upon them, every nerve to spasm into unnatural angles out of fear and shame at what they have spawned.

Program notes: I started a thread called "JzG Deathwatch," and after editors pointed out that this had become a cliché, I renamed it "JzG DICKwatch," recalling that JzG took the honors in this year's WP:DICK of Distinction pageant.

Any good gag loses potency after the second or third use...

Besides, this thread should actually be merged with this one, as HK was three days late picking up on it. So perhaps it's a moot point?

Mainly, it just shows once again that descriptive thread titles are important to our so-called "mission."
