QUOTE(JoseClutch @ Fri 1st August 2008, 1:08pm) 2? Try 10-10 000.
Knol plans on doing this, so watch and see how it works (my guess is it will be a complete disaster, but we will see.) Wikinfo also had the crazy idea that there are two points of view, rather than 6.5e9, which is the true case.
Yes, I was assuming a codified limitation of one "pro" article and one "con" article, but if it were carried to the logical conclusion of forking, you would end up with one article for every possible point of view. I've been watching Knol and while I have not yet come across a situation where there are more than 2 articles on a topic, it will probably happen (and if anyone has seen this already, I'd love to know what the topic is). I tend to agree that Knol has the looks of a disaster waiting to happen. As far as I can tell, you can post there without having a verified identity and verification of identity is merely optional. Google has deep pockets and unless they are policing this thing quite closely, I see them getting sued the first time someone anonymous does a Fuzzy Zoeller or Sinbad there and while I'm no lawyer, I would guess that Google would be a lot easier to pin down and serve in a lawsuit (though of course they are also in a better cash position to fight a lawsuit too I would imagine).

First one that came to mind. Naw, Google's definitely in the 230 clear here. Unless they get complaints and don't respond, maybe. Verification is indeed optional (and the {country} tag for verification has one option), but I don't think that matters much. Knol is just blogspot run by Google.

Jon Nice to see kids are learing how to Cut & Paste. Thanks for the info Jose, I apparently didn't look nearly hard enough for forking. My personal favorite. I feel rather enlighten after reading that.

Wow. Looking at his other content creation, someone really ought to invite him over to Wikipedia.
